Came here on Sunday night with a group of 7 people. Sat by the window which gave us ample room and a nice view and feel of the cappuccino strip The thing that I love most about Tabella is how friendly the staff are and the pasta is all handmade My favourite dish is the squid ink fettuccini with barramundi, sun dried tomatoes and chilli! Unfortunately I was so hungry and didn’t get a chance to take a picture which is very unlike me! Haha usually I get the pleasure of saying the«camera eats first» We ordered the risotto balls, Italian sausages, creamy tortellini, chicken and the pork from the mains section. All the dishes were lovely and Tabella is still definitely one of my go to restaurants in Fremantle

Went into Freo looking for Italian and having been to Tabella before I didn’t have any dining once again. I opted for the Duck pappardelle. It wasn’t a long wait. It was a disappointing as I know I would have made the same dish better at home. The duck was overcooked as it was dry and the flavour was missing from the ragout sauce. The pasta could have done with a little more cooking. Not sure what has happened in the kitchen since I last visited but it’s not enticing me to make a return soon. The service was good and I found the staff friendly. The Italian waitress was patient with my horrendous Italian. Top votes to her as she managed to get me the last chinotto in the place.

Was really not impressed at all with my visit to Tabella this evening. We walked in for some coffee and cake, and the person who greeted us was very rude. She didn’t ask why we were there just told us the kitchen was almost closed when we told her we wanted coffee and cake she said ok and pointed to a table. We sat down and chose our cake and ordered coffee, she didn’t smile Or look at us while taking the order. We waited a while for cake and the wrong cake was delivered to one of us, after another 15 mins our coffee had still not arrived so we told them not to worry and paid and left. The cake was not nice and seemed stale. Service was below par and considering not going back. Hopefully it was just an off night for them.

Holidaying in Fremantle had no idea where to lunch just walked in off the street. Very impressed picked wine then waiter advised one of the others was better and the same price and was really good. One in party was gluten free waitress went out of her way to ensure meal was gluten free and chief could prepare it as such. Very impressed with meal friendly service and atmosphere. Nice way to spend a Sunday.

Coffee, cake and red wine with friends on a chilly winter evening. This place definately filled the spot and put smiles on our dials. The staff were very friendly and attentive when taking our orders, even offering tips on wines. Ill be back to try more delicious cake and wine.

Now onto the important part of the morning — the food! A few of our friends were running a little late on this particular day, which gave the rest of us plenty of time to pursue the menu. With classic breakfast dishes including House Made Granola($ 12) and Eggs Benedict($ 16) plus a few specials like the Calabrian Eggs($ 16.50), it was pretty hard to choose a winner. I normally opt for something a little bit different(or salmon) for breakfast, but for some crazy reason I was feeling a Big Breakfast($ 22) that day(quite possibly the wine I had consumed the night before)! Tabella’s version of the breakfast regular involved the usual bacon and tomato and your choice of eggs(poached please) plus spicy Italian sausage, wilted spinach, caponata and crunchy ciabatta. If you’ve never had caponata before you’re missing out! The eggplant side dish is packed with flavour and really added to the breakfast usuals. I was a little disappointed that my poached eggs were a smidge over cooked, but the rest of the dish made up for the mistake. A few friends opted to try the Calabrian Eggs, which were baked in a mix of paprika, garlic and herbs. The rich tomato sauce looked and smelt amazing, leaving this girl a little envious! Thick slices of spicy chorizo complimented the tomato, and a generous slice of ciabatta was used to mop up the remaining juices.

Very very disappointed with the service here. My boyfriend and I went for lunch and only ordered a steak sandwich and a chicken sandwich. We got our drinks promptly but a couple come in AFTER us and were seated and served before us. They had both ordered a pasta and steak dish so I don’t understand why our sandwiches took so long. After 40 mins(the couple next to us had finished and left) and we still didn’t have our food, we asked where it was and we were rudely told«you’ve only been here for 10mins» and we had to wait. After a further 5 mins, we FINALLY got our food. When we paid, I mentioned that our waitress has been rude, I got told«she’s the manger so…» Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I usually don’t write bad reviews but very disappointed.

Another great Freo restaurant. We saw this in the entertainment book(25%), and love Italian food, so thought we would give it a try for a long Sunday lunch. The place is decked out in chairs, with these hung from the walls and ceiling which makes it look interesting. We were seated and served drinks quickly, while we looked over the extensive menu. It was hard to choose as there were so many delicious things on the menu, and everyone was very happy with their selections. We were also all very full as the portion sizes were good. They have lots to pick from, not just pasta and no pizza at all, but that didn’t matter. They also have daily special. We will most definitely be returning here as there is so much more that we wish to try!

It’s not often, when it comes to two people who love good food, that you find a place that you want to eat at again almost as soon as you pay the bill. Tabella is one of these places. Out cycling in the glorious Easter weather with the Über Blonde, we lobbed on the food strip in Freo feeling a bit peckish. Surprisingly there were very few punters around and we plopped at an outside table at this Italian gem. Not feeling like a main we decided on a couple of light options — swordfish carpaccio, brochillini, bread and a couple of Valdobbiadene’s finest Prosecco’s. The carpaccio was stunning — wafer thin slices of raw swordfish draped over a delicious green salad with a white wine vinegar dressing. Brilliant stuff. Less than a week later we were back on a soggy Thursday night. We sat outside again and the staff were over us like a rash, despite the main room slowly filling to bursting within the time we were there. We kicked off with the Prosecco Superiore from Valdobbiadene $ 9.5(again — as you do) and laid in the Risotto Ai Porcini e Zucca $ 24.50, Caponata $ 12(seasonal veggies) and the Palate Arrosto(roasted potatoes)$ 7.5. People were streaming in as we kicked back and watch the buses argue with taxis and sip Casal De Serra Verdicchio from Jesi $ 9, herself and Antichello Soave from Venezia $ 7 for me, both delicious Italian whites. The wisdom of our food ordering was apparent when it arrived after a short wait. The fab risotto was a perfect portion for two, all rich mushroom flavours in your mouth and perfectly cooked. The gently sautéed veggies and spectacular potatoes were a perfect foil for the rice. A truly wonderful meal. This is a restaurant that brings traditional, rustic food Italian fare to an obviously, judging from the crushed room inside, appreciative public. We will return, probably very soon. And they have GF pasta. Love it.

From the moment we sat down in this Italian 50s style café/restaurant, a waiter served us. There were chairs at the tables, chairs on the ceiling and pictures of chairs on the walls. Wonder why it wasn’t called Chairs? Anyway, thereafter being seated, we were treated as special guests, even though the place was full. I guess, they must have made everyone feel special too. We started with the Antipasto. Great choice it was too. The Pallone Cheese was fantastic as were the 6 or 7 other tasty dishes on the same platter. Best ever. For Mains, we tried the Beef Cheeks. Wow, what an amazing dish. The beef just melted on the fork. Didn’t need to use my knife either. If you’ve never tried this dish… try it. 10 out of 10. Andrea, our waiter was superb. Couldn’t have done more for us. We are certainly going to come back to this place more often! The queues at the door proved just how good people think this place is. us too now.

Really good food and atmosphere! Can get a bit loud when they put the music on but the staff are endearing and friendly and the food is served in generous portions and with a traditional Italian flavour!

One of the many Italian places along the main strip, this is a cute little restaurant with the option of indoor or outdoor seating and great people-watching options. We were there on a Sunday night and got a table right away; it seemed a bit less crowded than some of the other options. Nonetheless, it was a bit loud in there(just bad acoustics I think, as there were not huge numbers of people nor rowdy ones?) and occasionally hard to hear my date. The service was friendly but it took forever to get our food(and even longer for some of those around us), despite not having a full house. However, the food was fantastic, particularly the asparagus and ricotta soufflé — divine! It is listed as an entrée but could have easily served as my entire meal. My date thoroughly enjoyed his pasta as well. We were too stuffed for dessert by the end, but they had an impressive selection of delectable-looking, very rich cakes and other tidbits on display at the entrance. Something to try another time! Overall, it lost a star for the slow service, but generally a fun atmosphere and great food. I’d certainly go there again!

I had a fantastic evening at Tabella. Wandering down the café strip there are so many different places to choose from. I’m slowly working my way down the street and I am so glad I stopped in at Tabella. We were greeted and seated immediately, without a booking although it was quite late and a weekday. The waiter was very friendly — professional and happy to have a few jokes with us. We ordered the antipasto tasting plate which was very well presented, with good quality meats and a great serving size for a shared entrée. Our mains came out a good amount of time after we finished our entrée and they were fantastic! I ordered the chicken involtini, and it was tender and juicy — and full of flavour! The roast vegetables that came with it were crunchy and well cooked — a beautiful dish. The crème brûlée for dessert was the perfect way to finish the meal. It was light and creamy with a perfect shell on top. The service was great from beginning to end, the atmosphere was nice and cosy, the food was excellent and the pricing wasn’t too bad either. Definitely will be back!

Casual, modern ambiance. Excellent entrees left us wanting more. Different from any other Italian I’ve tasted. Had a hard time deciding on desserts

Having visited Freemantle a few times we decided on a different restaurant than last. Our group of six arrived a bit on the late side for lunch so it wasn’t very crowded or loud which was great for us. We ordered drinks, appetizers and mains(at our table!!!) and waited for our feast to arrive. The appetizer(anitpasto misto) was a sampler of their more popular dishes and provided us with a nice taste of what was to come. The main orders were Gnocchi, Spaghetti w/Basil, trofie Gamberi(Pasta and shrimp), and I had a lunch special which was a chicken sandwich with salad. The food was delicious and I tasted the Gnocchi and trofle both of which were just as tasty as my sandwich. The service was great with only one negative which was the length of time between the appetizer and main dishes. While I know we had a larger group which can make serving times difficult the time between the two seemed excessively long, thank goodness for good company :)
