After running through the pouring rain we dashed into sandrino café and pizzeria. The waitress was excellent in her greeting and gave us the best table outside under the heater. Ordered garlic bread, mussels, carbonara pasta and veal schnitzel and pasta. I also ordered a lemon lime and bitters along with a Italian beer. The drinks came within 1 minute. Incredible! The food was tasty, not the best I’ve ever had but enjoyable. The serves were enormous and pipping hot. This is a typical Italian family trattoria that serves great size portions at a reasonable price. One of those places I would come back to again because the ambiance is great, the staff are pleasant and attentive. Well done Sandrino. There is a reason you have been going strong for over 30 years. Delicious and generous servings. And I mean generous, I think the chicken parmigiana was part emu. We had dinner on a Sunday evening, outside was a good choice of table as we could all hear each other talk and there was a good breeze. My favs of the night were the garlic bread — generous, buttery and garlicky — the pizza — perfect crust — and the gnocchi — smooth but huge. I regret eating anything during the day earlier as I couldn’t finish it. I got half way, good luck to you!

Went to sandrino last night for my partners birthday with his family. There was four of us and we sat outside. It was very quiet in freo being a Monday but there was a good vibe at sandrino. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered and got out food very quickly. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. It was a generous size and very tasty. My partner shared the seafood platter with his dad, it was huge, they said everything was tasty but the mud crab was a bit dry. The other person got the fish trio and he really enjoyed it I would recommend for quick service and tasty food at a good price.

One thing for sure, the serving portions are HUGE. The Surf and Turf is presented beautifully. Mussels(my fav) come in a huge bowl(it’s ok but not as good as Little Creatures). I’ve also had their BBQ Seafood. I was giggling like an idiot when it arrived. I wasn’t expecting such a massive portion. No bother, I devoured the dish with glee(except for the the plate and salad of course. Eew I don’t do salad. Keep your leaves away from my food!). I’m not too sure of their risotto though. It looks like soggy paella. The service here is hit and miss though. Hadn’t been a good record coming here on the weekends as the wait staff seemed to be hungover and forget your orders even as they’re writing them down. So don’t come here for service, come here to eat crazy portions of seafood.

Went for a work lunch, felt like steak so ordered surf ‘n’ turf. The serving was exceptionally large, and the steak was cooked medium. I was impressed by the 2 large prawns still in shells a top the steak. My only disappointment was that I was served mash even though I ordered fries, and the waitress didnt ask how I like my steak. Still, thumbs up.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Fremantle. You can see your meal being prepared by the multiple chefs. The lighting is fantastic and the pizza ovens let out the best aroma! You must dine here. You will not be disappointed!

I would like to return to try the pasta and pizza next time. I opted for a a reef and beef and salad. I ordered Medium Rare and the steak came out well done. I told the waitress that apologised for the error and agreed with me that it was overcooked. The steak came back cooked at a medium. It was topped with more fresh prawns which was a saving grace. I will return to try something Italian as a lot of my friends rave about the Italian. It was extremely busy and we had to wait for a table as well, so it might be good to avoid Friday night if you don’t have a booking.

I genuinely don’t see what all the hype about Sandrino’s is. Maybe it’s because I’m not a pizza-at-restaurants fan, or maybe because I’m second generation Italian, great pasta is a way of life, so when I order it at a restaurant, I have pretty high expectations — but whatever the reason, I wasn’t overly impressed. I have only ever ordered from the mains and pasta menu, never from the pizza menu, but I do hear they are very good — so if it’s pizza that you’re after, maybe this is the place for you. The pasta isn’t terrible, it’s just not anything special(if you’re in the mood for pasta, I would recommend La Sosta 3 or 4 businesses down the road — that is impressive!) The mains that I have ordered are always nice, but never great. The portion sizes are huge and I have always struggled to finish a meal. I think they have forsaken quality and genuine flavours for quantity/oversized meals which I don’t rate. The menu seems generic and there isn’t really any authentic Italian meals or flavours that are offered as far as I have experienced. In saying that, everything is quite reasonably priced for the portion sizes. There is quite a varied menu which I also like, and an ever-changing specials menu, which would be good if you went often. Service has been hit and miss for me. I’ve been about 4 or 5 times and have been treated to very polite and friendly service(and they’re also often open later than some of the smaller restaurants especially on weeknights) and I’ve also experienced some pretty ordinary service where the wait staff have been disinterested and unhelpful. The food has always been prompt and never any big issues. All in all, I would have to say average just about sums up my experiences and my thoughts on Sandrinos.

Always has been a favourite of mine in the Freo area, went for lunch there today, they have expanded so the tables are not so tightly packed in. Had the seafood risotto, and can recommend for sure. Service was great and the wait time for meals to arrive was short. Will go back again soon !

Although the pizzas are excellent, the service is virtually non existent. We had to just about physically grab a waitress to place our order early on a very quiet friday evening. Our food then sat on the counter for at least 5 mins before somebody took it to our table. When on paying the bill we complained about the service, the response was«okay…» Sorry guys, but that just doesn’t sound like you are interested in my business!

This place has been in Fremantle forever. But it never fails to satisfy. I love that they don’t do bookings. Just walk on up and grab a table day or night. The menu is predominately italian styled but on my last visit I did manage to get a wagyu beef fillet. Was very satisfying to say the least. The service here has always been pretty good too. They are attentive. Allthough last visit the waiter did tend to hover a bit too much for my liking, and interupted our conversation on several occasions, to talk trivial nonsense. I won’t let this deter me from going back though. I allways enjoy this venue.

Seafood Delight Went here for a late lunch today with my sister after lazing about at Cottesloe beach earlier in the day. As soon as we sat down a friendly waiter came over to our table and took our order. Our drinks came out shortly afterwards. We decided to get a salad each. Greek and Rocket and then share a Seafood Platter from the«Specials» menu. At around $ 40 dollar(for the platter) it seems to be quiet good value especially considering this is eating out in Perth. The platter was quiet large. Almost as large in fact as seafood platters I have had in other establishments for double, triple or even more. With healthy servings of soft shell crab(a favourite), oysters both natural and kilpatrick, mussels, prawns, calamari and wedges the platter seemed to hit the spot. Albiet we both had a salad also on the side. Considering the meal totalled at $ 66 dollars and fed to hungry beach goers with seafood is decent value for money. Food and service both decent alike. I hear the pizzas hear are very good and will return in future to try one out. Recommended.

Sandrino’s has always been on my list of places to try in Freo, and I have heard many good reviews. However, after finally dining there for a friend’s birthday I was a little disappointed. Although the menu was extensive, most of it was nothing special. Unfortunately for Sandrino’s there are already plenty of Italian restaurants in Fremantle(and everywhere else) and quite frankly, they didn’t bring anything fresh to the table(figuratively of course). Having said this I have no complaints about the quality of the food. My smoked salmon salad tasted great(I’m not a real fan of pasta), and the dishes my nine other dining-buddies ordered looked to be just fine. I’m not sure they were worth their price though. One great thing about this restaurant was that we were able to book a large table on the top floor — although we did have to share the room with a large office-party function who were quite rowdy. It would definitely be worth venturing here if you’re dining with a group, as the menu is suitable for all taste-buds and they obviously cater for larger bookings. If you do happen to stop by the Dessert Pizza is a must-try. We ordered one between two and still couldn’t get through this delicious creation!

With the acquisition next store it is now slightly easier to manouvre through the restaurant. After being seated to an inside table we ordered our dishes and enjoyed some small talk. The trio of dips came out first, the bread was nice and was useful for shoveling the dip. My main was the grilled seafood. All elements on the dish were cooked fairly well, although the squid rings were far too over seasoned. The sticky date pudding landed next with the icecream for the kids. The SDP was pretty good with that sugar hit to satisfy any sweet tooth. I felt a little annoyed at the $ 6.50 price for a few run of the mill icecre scoops. Overall a good meal with proactive service

I used to love this place, and would hit it up with a big group of friends at least once a month. Two years have passed and my first proper meal since was terrible. The gnocchi dish was unexciting, my other half had a hair baked into her pizza crust and the worst part was the way the waitress at the till kept talking to another waitress(loudly), only pausing to tell me how much I owed.

Sandrino is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Freo. I’ve been there so many times that all of the experiences have blended into this blind love for it. Other people have offered reviews of the food and ambient, and all of that stands, but there is something entirely else I love about Sandrino. They are FAST in making and delivering your order. By far the fastest place where you can get a decent cooked meal. Recently one of my friends organised a birthday lunch there. So that is about 15 people ordering at the same time. We all had our meals within 10 minutes of the order. I don’t know how they do it, I suspect black magic and devil worshipping but I don’t care. Outside of that, they also have full waiter service which I think needs to become a thing among Australian restaurant scene. I’m even happy to pay a bit more just so I can have the waiter service. In any case, delicious food, good venue, fast service and waiters. What more could you ask for?

Sandrino is HUGE. I like how they have managed to combine traditional Italian deisgn in the old building with modern shiny fixtures in the new one. However, I feel it is almost too large to provide the quintessential Italian service and atmosphere and quality seems to have suffered a bit as a result. Even their website is too big and bold. That said, the pizzas are pretty good and they always have fresh toppings with a delicate flavour. Prices have remained pretty good despite the business expansion which is a bonus, the chips and wedges remain cheaper than any of the neighbouring restaurants. Try the No. 3 pizza.

Boasting the best pizza in WA seems like a pretty steep challenge. But being Italian and eating pizza more frequently than the average Joe, I feel I am qualified to say their pizza is among the best in Perth, legit. We started with a pizza to share and then moved on to triangoli(spinach and ricotta pasta triangles) and calamari(calamari). The servings were enormous and we had to leave a lot on the plate but for what you are paying the food was amazing. Good quality Italian cuisine is hard to find and usually comes at a cost but this was a consummate of all the best factors of real Italian food. Tasty, cheap and BIG. It felt just like dinner at Nonna’s. The service was amazing and as I am always a waitress, I feel as though I am qualified for that too. But on a serious note, they were friendly, helpful and only happy to bring us containers to put the leftovers in. Note: Order the dessert pizza or go home disappointed.
