Cute place, good coffee, good food, BUT… the day I was there they were plagued by sending orders to the wrong table. I got someone else’s coffee, but of course let them know, so the person who ordered it was only slightly impacted. Unfortunately for me, my breakfast order went to another table, and no one reported it so I wound up waiting an extra 20 minutes for my food.

We stopped in here for a late breakfast and absolutely loved it. I’d never had a Flat White coffee before(now I know it originated in Australia) and wish we had it back in the US. Perfect blend between a latte and cappuccino. We also got the Green Chile Eggs and ShakShouka. Green chile eggs were delicous! It’s a must try! The ShakShouka tasted a bit too much like tomato paste.

I’ve been in Fremantle on holidays. Tried many of the cafes there and this one is definitely in the top 3 in Fremantle. I like the unique atmosphere and that the natural dishes and drinks(not too much sugar). Looking forward to coming back when I’m in Freo next year.

I had heard good things from friends about The Attic so I was keen to try it out for myself. I went on a late Saturday morning for brunch. It’s right in the heart of Fremantle so parking is always easy to find and, if not free, at affordable hourly rates. Walking down Pakenham Street, there’s a sign on the street directing you down Bannister Street, so it’s hard to miss. This place is definitely unique, and walking in, I immediately understood why it was named so. Aside from the tables out front, most of the seating was upstairs in ‘the attic’. Entering the building, you’re greeted with red face brick and wooden interiors. Staff are on the ball, friendly, and greet you warmly when you walk in. Table numbers are letters of the alphabet, which along with the couch seating and hanging luggage bags, definitely adds to the casual feel of this place. Aside from one long table available that’s suitable if you’ve got a group, most other spots are fixed and seat no more than a few people comfortably. I ordered the Glorious Green juice and grabbed the Reuben Bagel and a serving of the Honey Cake from the deli cabinet. The juice was glorious indeed. Let’s just say, I’m a fan of anything green, and beverages are no exception to that rule. The bagel however was not as glorious– the bagel itself was quite hard and proved difficult to consume with ease, the corn beef was dry, and I think I cut the inside of my mouth on the rock solid bagel bun. Honey Cake– perfect. Bagel hiccup aside, I’d say this place is definitely worth a visit and I’ll definitely be back sometime soon to give it another go, with a review update to follow.

It’s dark inside but the coffee’s good and there’s lots of interesting salads and goodies in the cabinet.

We’re pleasantly surprised. Wonderful ambience very quaint and relaxing place where we enjoyed breakfast during our stay in Fremantle. Had the poached eggs which were cooked to perfection and they do a very nice coffee. The cakes looked devine I wish I had more room in my belly. 10⁄10

Okay so, I didn’t eat here. I entered, ventured upstairs, took a seat and looked at the menu. I was hanging out for a whole hearty good ol’ fashioned brekkie. This menu looked like lots of fancy, span-dangled words slapped on a menu and turned me off really. It reminded me of reading Russel Brand’s ‘Booky Wooky’ to be honest. The layout of the place was cool, but I just wasn’t fussed by the menu… So we left and found what we were looking for elsewhere. Maybe I’ll come back fro coffee and post my review of that.

Absolute heaven. I have a gluten allergy and finding a good homemade gluten free biscuit was nearly impossible. My husband found this little coffee shop and the date and almond biscuits are to die for. And when I say that I mean it in the sense that the day before we were leaving I went in and bought four of them. The banana bread is also just wonderful. I would highly recommend and just wish we had stayed in Fremantle our entire trip so I could have tried all of their desserts!

The food here was fantastic. And I hear that the coffee is superb. I had hot chocolate and my partner had chai latte. The hot chocolate was, at best, ok. The chai was like burnt tea with far too much cinnamon. So I don’t recommend these.

Finally tried breakfast in the attic. Open quesadilla with pulled pork and black beans is very good. The sides including chilli are a great touch for some extra zing at breakfast. The chorizo shakshouka was served hot in a cast iron pan for 1, and delicously saucy with fried egg and oil-drizzled toast. We shared the two dishes, struggling to eat it all. Acai Accent smoothie is packed full of healthy goodies too. The venue — for those, like me, who havent been — is small and dark but delightfully freo. The front entrance is somewhat cramped, but push through the coffee folk and make your way upstairs to the attic. Pull up at the bar overlooking the orchestrated barrista and kitchen antics below. The staff are polite and friendly, and must get their daily pedometer count getting up and down those stairs. Worth a try if you’re in the area.

Gotta say, coffee was pretty good. Loses points for the cost vs fluid ounces but gains a point for the friggin sweet set up and decore. It’s the ultimate Freo café, just very boho and cool vibe. The food is fresh and well priced. Bathrooms were clean, staff helpful.

It’s my second visit here and I’m not blown away, again. In fact I think the first time was nicer. The staff are friendly but they do not seem knowledgeable about their products at all. Last time they couldn’t tell me the ingredients of their cakes and today they said they think it may have… But she did go and ask one of the owners to check. My flat white is too milky and my cake is eh, I’ve only had half of both and I’m ready to leave. I think I’d be more satisfied having gone to The Coffee Club.

I have to eat at The Attic at least once a month. At one point I was visiting once a week. I’ve only ever had the smashed avocado breakfast, honey roasted pumpkin wrap and slow cooked beef wrap because they’re too yummy to try something else. The cakes always look gorgeous, but the mains are so filling I’ve not been able to try one. The drinks are delicious and refreshing. Can’t fault this place one bit!

Quirky little spot off the strip in Freo. Very nice coffee and reasonable slab of carrot cake for a good price. Love the décor, very hipster with high ceilings and warm lighting. Combination of small tables and communal dining — though I don’t envy the staff carrying good and drink up the steep stairs!

I loved the attic. Sitting upstairs, relaxing with great company. What a way to start the day. Walking in, I was warmly greeted as I choose my meal. Given it was my first time here, I stuck to something easy. Scrambled eggs and salmon. When the meal came, there was plenty of salmon and the eggs were creamy. I also had a sunrise juice which was delicious. When I’m next in fremantle, I will visit again.

Unlike our immediate prior negative experience in Freo at another destination, at the Attic we were advised they were currently busy and that there would be a 30 minute wait, this allowed me to switch from a short coffee to a smoothly. When out food arrived 20 minutes later(exceeding expectations) it was delightfully flavoursome having ordered the green chilli eggs; the egg were cooked well, the bread was crunchy and tasty, and the combination of chilli and spring onion made the whole dish jump out! Despite being busy the staff were super efficient, the ambiance great, here is somewhere I will definitely return too

I like this place because its very laid back and casual. we came here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch after a massive night at Ambar lol… the place isnt that big even though they have upstairs seating. I can just imagine how packed it can be during busy hours. good choice of healthy foods from wraps, paninis, fritters and yummy refreshing juices. certainly a remedy for our lovely liver after binge drinking! will come back to try their coffees next time :-)

Great real estate is a great real estate. The Attic is located in a very cute small Freo type of old watehouse building with indeed great attic where you can see what is happening on the first floor at the counter. The place is small so beware of that on weekend mornings when probably everybody is hungry for some nice eggs on a toast. And nue eggs they do. Not sure how often they change the menu, but this time I tried eggs Tunisian style and chilli eggs with bacon. Both were really nice as was my macchiato and orange cake. Latte was tasting a bit weird though, but all in all very enjoyable holiday breakfast experience

Rap me over the knuckles with your iPhone! For I only visited this café for the first time last week! I know, I know, terrible right. What’s not terrible is this café! It’s truly awesome in fact. Entering on the ground level you’re greeted by sweet smelling baked goods and a more extensive menu including eggs, bircher and much more. Big ups for their delicious juice list, which coincidentally contains the *Laura Special — beetroot, ginger, lemon and a few other tasty fruit and veg. Then you go upstairs and you’ll find yourself in what feels like the base of a church steeple, hence the name The Attic. It has a very chilled and serene vibe, I must not be the only one who thinks it has a churchy feel as all the patrons are very quiet here. I kind of felt like I’d finished a meditation class, I felt that relaxed after spending an hour at the quiet café. I will be back… lots. *Juice is not actually called the Laura Special, but is exactly the delicious bespoke juice I order everywhere else, but here it is already on the menu.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Attic. I love that it is a little way ‘off the beaten track’, I love the theming, I love the quaint charm of the place, I love the layout and just the general atmosphere that the place has. I ordered the scrambled eggs on sourdough with chorizo and spring onion and it was fantastic! There was so much flavour packed into the eggs which I enjoyed as sometimes it can be a bit bland. The eggs were creamy and light and I love chorizo on everything so I was pretty impressed with my choice. The iced chocolate I had to go with it was nothing special and seemed to just be milk with chocolate sauce at the bottom of the glass, but I was really too fixated on the eggs to be bothered too much by it. The staff were friendly and efficient and the pricing quite reasonable for the serving size I received. The only thing I will say is that while I thoroughly enjoyed the unconventional little quirks of the Attic, it isn’t for everyone. Don’t come here wanting a tradition cooked breakfast with sausages and bacon or pancakes, but there are a range of very interesting items on the breakfast menu I would love to go back and try!
