We ordered the halloumi for breakfast and asked the waitress to give us an extra plate as we were going to share it. When 2 plates of halloumi came, we thought one was for us and the other was for another table. But we were so wrong, they were all for us! The chef kindly divided the meal onto two plates for us. The halloumi was really yummy and the mushroom, macadamia crumble complemented it really well. The coffee is nice and the service is quick and friendly. Since it is on my regular walking track, I will definitely be back.

So sorry I’m going to sound like a broken record but here we go, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Do yourselves a favor and do breakfast here it’s fantastic and one of the best dog friendly spots in the area. Second round in a month hitting this place up for a late breakfast since they forgivingly serve it all day. The winner for us is the eggs and toast you can add a whopping amount of sides to. I think we added about nine and shared a plate. It shocked the wait staff haha but never underestimate how much we love a good brekkie. Really genuinely friendly service, can’t fault the place. Food was even better than last visit somehow, even when I managed to spill half my coffee on myself and the roasted veg. Smoothie was super sublte, more of a healthy than a hearty choice(which I favor yay!). Got given a few Schmackos to give to out little poppet after he nicked half the salmon off the plate, what a banana. Will be back.

Light bulb is a new café on KWR, next to Hyde Park Pizza, where the old Marrakesh used to be. I had brunch here earlier this week with a swimming buddy and our kids. The kids were all below 5 so the window seat with the cushions was a good spot for us. We all felt comfortable here and the fittings were lovely(except for the plastic flowers on the tables). The coffees come with vintage silver spoons and a homemade flaky, spiral cookie. The babyccino came with marshmallow — kids were super happy about that! The walls were adorned with the artwork of local artist — I am assuming this will change with time. The all day brekkie & lunch food menu looks interesting and the only sous vide poached eggs I’ve seen on a menu in the burbs. I will update with more insight after a few more visits and tastings of the food :-) Plus point is that they are open from 7am which is great for KWR.
