Small Patch Wine Store

In the same way Zoolander was an Actor Slash Model this place is a great Bottle Shop Slash Wine bar. Actually, truth be told, it’s much more bottle shop than wine bar, but still a great place to crack a bottle of wine and enjoy some cheese. The owner is very knowledgeable and keen to talk about, and recommend the wines. There is a spectacular range of wines from around Australia and the world, hitting all of the main price points with bottles from under $ 20 all the way through to $ 100 plus. When you factor in corkage, some quality wines are very affordable. Will definitely be back.

Great little store — love that every beer and wine in there has a tag with some handy factoids or recommendation notes. The range isn’t crazy extensive — but you can tell each wine there has been selected with intent and from a place of sound knowledge (or taste buds). Staff were super helpful with suggestions and know their stuff.
It’s $ 10 corkage for a bottle to have in store, and highly recommend nestling into one of the two tables there with a few friends and enjoying a bottle (and some cheese platters) while keeping one eye on the shelves for your next bottle. Is there a better way to shop for booze then whilst drinking it? I think not.

Friendly staff, great wine selection, warm and welcoming interior. I’d spend money here again!

Not your average wine store, Small Patch is an exciting addition to Hawthorn — a nice mix of boutique wine store, cellar door and bar. Nice and convenient too, at the intersection of Burwood and Glenferrie Roads.
They specialise in craft beer, microbrews, boutique and organic wines. The staff know their stuff and are happy to chat to help you make an informed choice or leave you to it.
What is a perfect match for wine and beer? Yes. Cheese. They sell that too. Along with olives, potato chips and other small wine complementing tasties, they have you sorted.
You can also BYO food; they have an agreement with some local takeaway restaurants on the same strip. When I was there you could grab some nosh from Omahs and Red Elephant.

What a great little store. Just what we need in Hawthorn REAL BOOZE.
They have a great variety or wine from local Aussie producers like ‘Lady who shoot their lunch’ with some great beers and ciders like one of my favorite Golden Axe Cider.
They are always happy to see you and will help you choose a great wine, beer or cider for what ever you have planed.
