As far as a bottleshop goes, I have yet to see one that trumps the Camberwell Dan Murphy’s. I mean, I’m not much of a drinker yet I was still thoroughly impressed and even excited by the variety Dan Murphy’s has. Ambiance: The store is incredibly massive. And by massive I mean — massive. Think the size of an entire Coles but instead of having meat and produce you have nothing but aisles and aisles of liquor. It’s not cramped either! Very spacious environment. Customer Service: Unlike a lot of scummy bottle shops, this branch of Dan Murphy’s are usually pretty good with being strict with ID(very respectful). If you’re underage and planning to give it a shot, forget about it! Additionally, they’re really friendly and won’t be jerks(even when asking for ID). Variety: They have almost any kind of alcohol you want. I recently found a new enjoyment for Cruisers — Chocolate Mudshakes. Sounds awful but it’s actually delicious! Dan Murphy’s, despite being a large chain with great variety has reasonable prices as well. — If you’re looking for a great selection of liquor without paying out of your ass, go to Dan Murphy’s. There’s not much to complain about.

Dan Murphy’s is a giant in the Australian liquor industry. There are several locations set up in Melbourne, but I usually go to the Camberwell venue because I am always impressed by the wide selection and the size of this enormous store. This is one hell of a liquor store and it may take you a while to get your head around the space and where everything is. I usually stick to the Wine, Spirit and Cider sections but I actually enjoy just having a browse through the store and checking out what discounts they have. There are usually some pretty good sales on; at the moment they are selling riding high on the resurgence of Cider and offering a pretty impressive range from Strongbow to the ever-popular Rekorderlig brand. The staff are helpful and service is pretty good. They also strictly abide by the liquor licensing laws because I have never seen a bunch of kids hanging around outside or attempting to buy anything.
