Still awesome. Still feels like it has odd opening hours, but handy as it’s got off Gladstone Road parking.

I come here for their artisan sourdough loaves as well as a decent cup of coffee and a snack which works for a low-key weekend breakfast. The staff are very nice, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere to have a quick bit at one of their footpath tables. The main-road location is a little bit of a drawback.

I get so excited when I find an independent bakery that I haven’t tried as they all have their own unique array of baked goods and have their own way of making things. Flour Power is a quirky little bakehouse selling a small range of breads, pies and sweet things. It’s a small shop with a not a lot of display space, meaning their pies are tucked away slightly and their breads not displayed as well as they could be. Staff are friendly, however, and will happily answer any questions. My favourites are their jam donuts and their tomato, feta and olive calzones, made with a soft herby bread. Cash only. A donut and calzone will set you back $ 6.80.
