Disappointed again. Wouldn’t honour a voucher clearly available on website. Food below average. Restaurant seating layout is poor. Not coming back.

100 bucks later was a waste of money !! Food was disgusting, was no flavor what so ever ! Watery and so bland. They brought out hubbies food first while I had to wait. and my meal was less complicated. Would never go back better off buying a meal from coles !!!

We(wife and I) went for dinner Friday night. Nice Reasonably quiet place, just right for mature age people. Service was good, menu good café fare a bit pricey but acceptable. Great view s from the booths that seat up to 6 comfortably. My wife had the seafood platter with extra prawns instead of oysters. No problem. She said it was quite good. Me, steak and Guinness pie, not so good, steak and pastry a bit over cooked. I like this dish served in a ramkin and topped with pastry, this was like an Aust pie, didn’t seem the same. Filling should have more guiness liquid.

My lord… It’s hard to completely fuck up breakfast, but zing café managed to do just that. Bacon had to be sent back, much to the dismay of the waitress, as it was burnt beyond tasting like bacon… I still have a charcoal taste in my mouth as I write. Eggs were bland. Boring. The waitresses all seemed hung over or stupid. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume hung over. My wife mentioned our experience when paying. She was met with silence… Then the bill. No acknowledgement at all. It was kinda weird. I had to laugh. Why don’t people take pride in what they do? Bad food and service. Only good bit was the view. There are many options at Hillary’s marina. Make zing café the last option.

Nice and quiet corner next to the sea. Good environment but average food. Love the chai latte.

Went here with my daughter on a beautiful sunday afternoon for lunch. All of Hillary’s was extremely busy but at Zing there was still place. Ordered fish and chips for my daughter and, as I am a vegetarian, the layered salad. This is specifically marked on the menu card as available as vegetarian option and the waitress noted down that I wanted the vegetarian option. A few minutes later she came back and said that it was all good with the vegetarian option but that the salad would still come with bacon. Would I mind? Yes, of course I did. The salad came quick and included: a large amount of unspecified FISH !!! I can only reward this level of ignorance with 2stars. The salad tasted boring and was served without bread. This ‘vegetarian salad’ alone costed me 26 $, excessive. The fish and chips were made up of two huge chunks of fish and just a few potatoe chips. The fish could bexeaten after all the fatty oil was squished out with the fork. All in all a very disappointing experience for a simple lunch with fish and chips, salad, cappuchino and a milkshake for 77 $. First and last time there.

I should have checked Unilocal before I decided to dine here, but I was with a few people and this happened to be where we ended up after a morning at the aquarium. I had the fish and chips which was pretty fishy tasting, and sort of grossed me out to be quite honest. My meal plus tea was only $ 15 for a lunch special so I guess I can’t say I wasted a whole lot of money. The service was sub par… the waitress couldn’t explain to our visitor how one of the meals on the menu was prepared and I was shocked she didn’t know ANYTHING about the menu. After we were finished and it was time to pay, they wouldn’t accept cash and a credit card combined so we could pay separately. I would recommend eating somewhere else in this area.

Oops, it seems some other Unilocalers have had a horrific experience here. I am not sure how places like Zong manage to get bad reviews. They have prime real estate that many restaurants would die for. When I ate here it was 8am on a Saturday and Hillarys was surprisingly quiet. I thought it would be a nice treat but unfortunately certain things let them and my breakfast down. The eggs were just not nice and repeated on me for the rest of the day. I would like to see them do better and I would like to want to go back. Its just that a ruined breakfast is the worst!

Zing… equals the worst experience of my life. I’ve told you of my love of breakfast, and so a note to any restaurant or café– YOUDON’T FUCKWITHBREAKFAST! I’m sorry for my outburst but seriously, breakfast can make or break a person’s day and it did worse for my opinion of this restaurant. Like many people on a Saturday morning I decided to find comfort in treating my hung over soul to a breakfast which I wouldn’t have to make or clean up. I had just reached the stage where it was safe to leave the house without erupting in spontaneous bouts of post alcohol sickness. I decided to avoid the packed out Dome café at Hillarys and try something different and there it was Zing in all its illusive glory. Yes, yes, yes it’s nice and fresh with its lime green walls and mariney themes and the wait staff are nice enough. I ordered Eggs Benedict, after a short wait of my stomach turning itself inside out for the splendour of food my plate arrived. It was poorly presented as there was water all over the plate, I know I asked for poached eggs but you cook them in water not serve them in water. After using up valuable napkin to dry my plate I made my first cut into the egg… for water to spurt out everywhere– either they didn’t cook the egg properly or it was full of water, I don’t know. All I know is that Zing has a beautiful bathroom the quality of it exceeded the breakfast hence why I was there all morning there being ill after their poor excuse for eggs. To Zing’s credit my breakfast was refunded but it ruined my morning and I was put off food for most of the day. I wish I could put no stars for Zing but Unilocal wont let me

The restaurant that used to be in this spot was called Italian Café and I loved it. Now when I turned up at Hillarys and it was gone and now in its spot was Zing, I was a little upset but I had to go and try Zing and just hope it lived up to The Italian Café. And well it just didn’t. The inside looks great they have done it up really nicely. In fact that is the one thing that they have improved. The menu has a really wide range of different foods, ranging from some mexican treats to typical british pub food and a few veggie options. Now I appreciate that they have tried to improve the menu, make it a little bit more up market, but with it goes the prices, which would be fine if it was good! The food has good worse, I ordered a bruschetta for a started and the bread was soggy and the tomatoes where spongy. The main course was a disappointment too and for the prices they charge although not ridiculous, are still too much for the poor quality food. The service is average, all in all a complete let down.
