We’ve been here a couple of times now for an office lunch on a Friday and I’m sold! Always love having more than one vego option at a pub– today I went with the Veggie Burger and I’m so glad I did! Patty made with chickpeas & pumpkin, guacamole and OMG maple & bourbon BBQ sauce… Rounded off perfectly with sweet potato fries. Only downside was a glass of coke costing $ 4!

So much potential but sadly misses the mark. A great outdoor entertaining area with a wall sized mega screen… that was showing the lifestyle channel while the footy was on. Overpriced tasting plates. $ 9 for 4 of the most tasteless wings in Adelaide. Unfortunate.

Since this pub is directly across the road form the Hindmarsh Stadium, where they play A-League soccer in Adelaide, you can expect this place to be packed full of Adelaide United supporters when there is a match. However at other times this place is almost empty(or it has been when I have come here outside of soccer matches). They have recently renovated the place, namely by covering the beer garden and turning it into a restaurant, which means that there is no more smoking out there(smokers have a little cage down the side). Otherwise it is not my favourite place and have only been here when there is a soccer match on(and a couple of other times when I was in the area).

Great pub. Great menu with options for everyone, sweet corn & chickpea burgers to schnittys & steak. Friendly staff and quick service.

We had crumbed prawns. Good size serve. Great chips, salad and home made tartare sauce. Excellent meal. Also had pakoras with sweet potato fries. So tasty, and with a fresh salad. Best pub meal we have had for a long time. AND not expensive. Dessert, pecan pie, the best, and biggest serve with real fresh cream. And only $ 5. Bargain.

I went here with my parents for a quick Friday night dinner. Their $ 10 specials were very reasonable — my Dad’s schnitzel was quite large and came with chips and salad(sauce extra). I however chose something off the regular menu(chicken burger) and we asked if I could instead have a salad garnish instead of the fries. The chef refused and said it was chips or nothing. So even though I was paying $ 15.50 I was not allowed to have a salad garnish and yet my dad who was paying $ 10 got both a salad garnish and fries with his meal. Not sure why they chose to dig their heels in over giving me a few lettuce leaves and some cucumber(surely that is no more expensive to serve than a big pile of hot chips) but this sort of service means I won’t be returning.

With a $ 12 lunch special you can’t go too wrong! Decent pub food and a good size. There is a choice of burgers, a couple of salads and some other tasty choices. The venue is modern and tidy and like I said, $ 12 for a full meal… ain’t nothing you can complain about there! The zuchini burger is super tasty, served with crunchy chips and the beef burger is also great– the patty goes right to the edges and it even have beetroot! YUM! Fast and friendly service are the cherry on top! Nothing special but an easy, quick, tasty lunch!

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this place, but it looked okay, and I was up for a decent pub dinner, so I gave it a try. I really only had a schnitzel, which is my traditional choice when I’m at a pub and not up for spending lots of money on a steak, and at a pub I’ve not eaten at before, I’ve found it best to choose something ‘safer’ to test the waters. Based upon my experience with the schnitzel, I might order the steak next time, because I didn’t mind my meal at all. The service seemed alright, maybe a little bit inexperienced, but very friendly and enthusiastic.

Since first reviewing this place, I discovered their December and January deals, and have been back several times for their $ 5 chef’s choice meal deals. Yes, $ 5 meal deals, no catch! You don’t even have to buy a soft drink! You can get the chef’s choice for dinner on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, and for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Seniors can get $ 4 lunches 12 – 2, Monday to Saturday, and dinner 5 – 6 Monday to Thursday. Hopefully these last all through January. We’ve gone the past two Thursday nights, and had roast turkey, beef curry, fish and chips and schnitzel. The serving sizes are a little smaller than usual, but plenty if you’re not a huge eater. And for $ 5, who’s really complaining? They’re not loud about the specials though, and only advertise them on one small poster next to the till, which is just a dodgy print-out from the ad they would have run in the newspapers. That’s why it pays to be in the know, Unilocal-style.
