Coffee is ok but staff last couple of times have been very slow cleaning tables. We counted half the tables empty of which all had empties on them. A young waitress walked past and picked up one plate off a table then wandered off never to return. We ended up sitting on a table filled with crud which we pushed to one side. Coffee and pastries weren’t good enough to compensate for the filth

In my previous review, I wrote: «Cotto doesn’t have those stupid little buzzer things like Cibo.» It seems I spoke too soon. They do now. But, I have to forgive them, for their coffee and service still rock.

This was another fortuitous discovery on Unilocal for me. I searched for a spot to catch up with a mate for coffee somewhere near this area, not expecting to find much given the late hour on a Sunday, and lo and behold I was rewarded with this little treasure! Now, I tend to temper my expectations for coffee quality when trying a new establishment, but there was no need on this occasion. Not only was the coffee very enjoyable but the surroundings were very pleasant and relaxing and the courteous, cheery service was second to none. A fantastic bonus is that their wares are on offer for much more of the day than is typical for good coffee joints.

Great ambience and feel along with great coffee. Love that it stays open until 10pm weekdays, seems like too many cafes close way too early these days.

It was my almost four year old son who said we should try this new café that we walked pass a few times on the way to the park, and we did one Saturday afternoon around 3.30pm. He and his little sister had a babyccino, a coffee for me and we shared a lemon tart. It was actually hard to decide because there were so many delicious looking sweets in the display cabinet. I had the pram with me, so I was pleased at how easy I could manœuvre in the café compared to Cibo across the street. And it’s a bonus that I don’t have to get up to collect the drinks myself when I have two young children in tow. Coffee was good, tart was excellent and my son was very impressed by the two marshmallows he got with his babyccino!(no marshmallows at Cibo). We’ll be back :-)

Went here this afternoon for a quick coffee and bite to eat! Loved the layout and ambiance inside. It’s light and bright with a great selection of well priced food and drinks! The banana bread was fresh, nicely presented on a wooden paddle and the coffee was faultless! Definitely a better vibe than Cibo! This will be our new coffee spot without a doubt!

This place gives me a strange sense of déjà vu… Harumph, if only I could put my finger on what this place reminds me of? Tactical marketing strategies aside, Cotto Espresso coffee and drinks are 10c cheaper than Cibo, has smashing coffee, friendly service and huge selection of pannini, piadina, gelato, sweets and even salad for the health conscious. It also is open 7 days until 10pm and I’m sure once they iron out the creases in speed of service and use of their POS machine, it will be just as speedy. Lovely interior design, bright and colourful spot to grab takeaway or sit with a friend for coffee(but seating is limited). We had 2 coffees and a divine ricotta lime pistachio tart and were impressed by the freshness and nice bitter cheesy flavouring. I know where I’ll be getting my take away from in the future on King William Rd!

Afternoon tea of hot chocolate seems to go down nicely with the recommended pistachio friand, the friendly staff even offered to warm it up — nice touch We chose to sit in the quiet little dining area to the side of the main café area, there’s one other coffee drinker sat quietly in the other corner busily working on his laptop — great spot to b away from others if u choose to do so and the fresh air with the side door opened to an empty space on a warm autumn day was welcoming Lots of other treats in the display cabinet, all looked very tempting Honestly, do we need more cafes offering snacks n awesome beverages? We are definitely spoilt with choices n just hope all these small businesses will be well patronized.
