Now be prepared to wait a little while for a booth or a spot around the train. This place was sooooo busy but in a good way! We probably waited about 15 – 20 minutes before we got our spot. Plenty of options available on the train but the staff were attentive in asking if we wanted to order off the menu. When we did order off the menu food was quick to come out, except once we had to remind them… The chefs even kept asking if we wanted to order more. This is a cheap night out and a really tasty dinner.

OMGSUSHI!!! I don’t think anyone can say«I don’t like sushi»! Hands down Sushi Train on Unley Road is the best Sushi in town! There is always a wait to get a booth/chair but it is well and truly worth it, they have fresh sushi made to order, plus the regulars on the train. If you’re after a light snack or a healthy dinner, I highly recommend Sushi Train!

Hands down this is our favorite 11.30am family friendly venue on a Monday or Tuesday lunch. It’s not crowded or chaotic at that time, and some selections may not be readily available on the choo-choo belt so I usually order a few favorites, then let the kids pick a few more off the belt. Food is always fresh and delicious! The staff are very friendly with my kids and let us have our«usual» back booth so we can have a fun lunch without bothering other diners. I’ve been there after 12pm on Friday, and on weekends and it does get very busy so stay away around those times if dining with kids. Several booster seats are available and space for prams.

The freshest sushi I have had in a long while! I am not the most adventurous sushi eater, I’ll be honest, I usually stick to tuna and avocado so I find the sushi I like is always there as it’s a popular dish. They have always offered to make me my sushi as well if I’m just getting takeaway and I can’t see what I want straight away. This sushi train is always busy, busy, busy so the atmosphere reflects that. Once I was there with a friend and after 10mins they were trying to hurry us out! Overall I think this is my fav sushi place in Adelaide ATTHEMOMENT… I have just read that the one in the city gives it a run for it’s money. so I’ll have to check it out soon. Overall the Unley sushi train is clean and friendly, and the sushi is always fresh which is what you want. Hmm I think I’ll be getting some sushi for lunch tomorrow!

What can I say I’m a fan. I absolutely love sushi and as far as sushi chains go Sushi Train is the standout. The sushi is alway fresh and very tasty. I love to watch the chefs as they make the different types of sushi, and the smells as they use the blow torch to sear the aburi salmon. To put the 5 star rating into context, I have compared Sushi Train to the other fast food style sushi bars such as cherry blossom etc. I have not compared Sushi Train to the likes of Shiki and Matsuri.

Sushi Train is addictive. It must be the little train of sushi that goes around and tempts you to eat everything. I haven’t been to the other ones but this one looks pretty big and modern. It gets pretty busy so if you don’t like waiting on a wait list on a Sunday afternoon, order take away instead. The sushi is excellent. I love watching the staff make it, especially the aburi salmon, which is blow-torched. I love drinking the asian drinks as well like the ones with the marbles you have to pop-in. Difficult at first. The staff are friendly and you will occassionally hear Japanese. Of course! And although they can’t make people leave, they have a good wait list system. It’s only about 10 – 20 mins. It’s worth it for the sushi train experience. Otherwise best to go to a normal sushi shop.

I love Sushi Train, perhaps too much. It is potentially the only establishment where I will happily wait 15 – 20 minutes to be seated and return each and every time. The staff are always attentive even when it is crazily busy(which is most of the time). If your favourite dish isn’t on the train it will be made fresh right before your eyes. I love watching all the different dishes glide past, and it makes deciding even more difficult because there is no guarantee it will still be on the train in a few minutes. If you love sushi you will no doubt have already tried Sushi Train, if not, get down there ASAP, you won’t regret it. Although you will be addicted.

Great sushi, VIP membership system is OK, and and great service. If you can’t see the sushi roll that you want come around, you can just ask one of the people, and they will bring what you asked for very quickly. This store is less busy than the other sushi trains in Adelaide.

I have been here three times and each time I have been underwhelmed with the quality and variety on offer. If the selection on the train doesn’t do it for you, get in early with the staff and order up, they’ll make it for you reasonably quickly. Tables turn over slowly so expect a wait, and keep in mind it is a popular choice with families, which means streams of kidlets. I prefer the sushi train on Gouger Street for this style of ‘fast-food’ sushi, if you are looking for something a little more authentic head around the corner to King William Road, you won’t be dissapointed there.

Ah Sushi Train Unley how I want to love you more but my heart has fallen from your sister(store) as she has been more honorable to me than you. Unfortunately despite choo-choo choosing this place as my preferred sushi hang out when I’m in the neighbourhood, I can’t quite go past the lower standard of performance this sushi train has compared to my Gouger St favourite. Yes I do play favourites children. The go-withouts that have made me reach my star rating: — They don’t do clam sushi and that is my partner’s favourite — I went in one Saturday night at peak service period and they only had raw salmon available. Things get a bit boring when you have salmon sashimi, salmon nori, salmon sushi rolls… you get where I’m going — The service is a bit slower here than most I won’t give up on you though Sushi Train as you are the master of consistently fresh sushi across Adelaide and I love that in a franchise. I just wish you were a little more like your sister…
