Vasko is a venue large enough for big group lunches, family dinner, and a get together. The atmosphere is quite ‘up class’ without it being too formal, and quite spacious with street frontage. Although there’s a good selection in the menu however, i found most of the dishes were a bit too oily. Prawns cooked well but nothing special. I attended in a big group and no one felt overly impressed by meals or value for money. I won’t be back as I found the meals a bit too pricey as well with no real stand out.

Vasko in Ivanhoe provided a memorable dining experience. We rushed in, running very nearly late for a concert in the grammar school, and begged for a table. They agreed, and provided us with great but speedy service. A family run business(where one is coeliac) that really gets food allergies and understands the importance of accommodating them, we were assured a delightful meal that wouldn’t come back to haunt us later. I ordered the pork from the specials board, and was overjoyed to find the crackliest crackling that I’ve had in quite a while. I’m English, ok? It’s important. My friend ordered the house special«Balkan burger», a bunless burger served on a bed of seasonal vegetables and he drooled the whole way through. We’ll definitely go out of our way to go back.
