It is quite hard to find a good coffee shop in Joondalup, there are many coffee franchises which are fine, but none with a little character or originality. However, Macchiato Lounge is somewhere with a little difference. It is just off Grand Boulevard near the library, and actually right next to a Dome, but definitely keep walking past there and head inside this funky café instead. It is a neat little place, with a few comfy couches and decent sized tables surrounding the outside, it is decorated with festival and band posters on the walls but not all over so it does not look cluttered. They use Fiori coffee beans and they make a very decent cup of coffee. They do serve food, their banana or mango and coconut bread toasted is amazing and they have a selection of cakes for morning or afternoon tea. They do have various types of sandwiches available for lunch as well. Their food and teas are served in quaint tea cups or antique looking plates with beautiful designs on them. I definitely appreciate the traditional crockery, it’s a nice touch. And represents the time and care they have put into their café to help make every little detail show exactly who they are. It is a really pleasant place to come to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and a good cup of coffee.
