I visited Spizzico with my wife on two occasions. This medium sized Italian restaurant is located next to a very sketchy looking motel. The interior is modern and there are two tv’s playing. Although I don’t mind the décor it’s not really my idea of romantic restaurant.
Although Spizzico has a big menu they seem to be most famous for their pizzas. On our first visit my wife and I both tried their pizzas and they did not disappoint. The service was very fast and they had a lot of delicious sounding specials.
When we went back later that week and tried their pasta we soon realized we made a mistake. Apparently while they’re famous for their delicious pizzas they must be infamous for their terrible pasta. I don’t even want to remember what pasta we had. Bah.

Spizzico is a romantic and authentic family owned restaurant. It’s hand made home style pasta dishes are a welcomed pleasant surprise to the pallet, from the usual Italian restaurants in Brisbane. Of note are there more than friendly and helpful waitresses. Located just outside of the city, it makes for a romantic evening finished off with a pleasant walk along the cliff line of kangaroo point. Enjoy one of their many home made pizzas as a takeaway option. Thoroughly looking forward my next meal here.
