Café Bliss does a tolerably decent job without shooting the lights out. The coffee is not the best to be found in Kenmore Village and the cakes in the show window look old and stale(they appear to be shipped in from a central kitchen and don’t look very fresh). Bliss does have a couple of decent sandwiches on offer(e.g. the Bliss Club and Turkey Focaccia) but the chips(i.e. fries) aren’t very nice and I wouldn’t recommend the burgers. The mini-pancakes are fine. My kids like a slushy when they go there but the machine is broken half the time.

I have very fond memories of Café Bliss because this was the café I would go to as a teenage girl, going to the café after school always made me feel so grown up. This café has gone through a few refurbishments through out the years and it definitely looks the best it ever has now. The food and coffee served here is nothing out of the ordinary, but they make it well and I have never had problems with the service. I remember coming here straight after school, in my school uniform and would be treated so kindly by the man behind the corner, I later found out that he was the owner of the café. Years have passed, and the same man is still behind the counter smiling away happy to serve his customers. Seeing someone so passionate about his business is always a pleasure. They serve your standard café food; sandwiches, burgers and a fridge with a wide selection of cakes and desserts. Also included on the menu are Poffertjes– dutch style mini pancakes, these make a really tasty and indulgent late afternoon treat. The café is often very busy, but there is always wait staff on hand to make sure your food and coffees are delivered in a timely manner and to ensure the place remains tidy. I have a soft spot in my heart for Café Bliss, it is the café that introduced me to «café culture». It may not look that special, but the service and quality of the simplistic food is what keep Kenmore residents coming back.
