I’ll suggest to everyone travelling to Kiama to keep well away. There are far better places in Kiama that do much better food and coffees at similar prices. My biggest gripe with the place is the poor and unfriendly customer service. My wife asked if they have a toilet they respond with«we don’t have one over there» gesturing with a hand towards the street then walking off. To make matters worse I leave my wallet behind in our haste to leave the premise due to my wife wanting to leave. It’s not before we are back on the highway I realise that I’ve left it behind. As they don’t answer the phone I eventually track down the store owners mobile number the next day and organise with her to return it via registered post which she agrees too. It has now been over week and I’m yet to receive my wallet as the owner has supposedly sent it regular post even though I gave her clear instructions to use the money in the wallet and send it registered and also telling me it’s my fault for leaving it in her shop. Trust me there are far better places to eat at in Kiama with far better and honest shop keepers.

Best pies on the Australian south coast! Possibly in the world! I’m a total pie addict, and on my first trip to Australia with my Aussie husband I was on a hunt for the best veggie meat pie down under. During a little road trip down the New South Wales south coast, we stopped for lunch in Kiama, a little seaside town made famous for its big blowhole and after a chance visit to Kiama Pie Shop, I’m ready to review that dream pie. Their pies were gorgeous, I had the veggie pie and honestly the pastry, potato, peas, carrots and gravy — how could anyone complain? The pastry was flaky and golden, the filling rich and flavourful and the gravy thick and tasty. A bargain at only $ 3. I haven’t even visited Sydney’s famous pie truck, Harry’s Café de Wheels, but I have tried a pie topped with mashed potato, peas and gravy, at a Pie Face branch in Kings Cross and I must say, Kiama Pie Shop blew it out of the water(pun intended).
