Stopped in for a few Sunday afternoon drinks with friends. I haven’t been in years, and my memories of the cocktail jugs are what drew me back. They didn’t disappoint! We got the Pimms and Lemonade jug which certainly quenched my thirst. I’m pretty sure its Pimms, ginger ale and lemonade with big chunks of orange and cucumber. We also ordered the Garden fries with aioli. The fries came in a big colander, quite a generous serve(four of us shared them). The aioli could have done with being a bit more garlicky. The Garden is a great place to spend an enjoyable afternoon with friends. Nb. It had been raining earlier in the day, and we had to ask for a cloth to wipe down our seats outside which were wet and covered with dirt and leaves. After wiping it down, we still had to sit on a blanket(positive though– they have blankets for when its cold). The staff really should have been on top of this.

Lets whoever push into the bar line, slowest taps and then they have 2 guys on the outside bar on a Sunday afternoon. Useless. Avoid unless you like drinking water and old fogeys pushing.

Just went for drinks, decent selection a wee bit more expensive that other places in comparison to the CBD but only by an extra dollar or so.

Having walked past this place every single time I’m in Leederville but I never walked, we decided for lunch here. It’s a big open area, relaxed environment. It was fairly a hot day so we opted for the seats inside directly under the ceiling fans. Staff were pretty attentive. The snapper we had was cooked really well and the fennel & rocket salad along with the purée all went really well together. The Spanish roasted chicken, flavours were lovely and the bed of spiced beans underneath were so good. However I felt the chicken was a little dry. But oh my goodness I have to rave about the crispy fried hot chicken wings, I’m sorry I can’t remember the exact name of the dish, but they were amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back here!

We came here for leaving drinks on a Friday evening. The setting is lovely. Plenty of areas to gather, to sit or stand. Chatting depends on where you are, some places the music is so loud you can’t hear each other. It is now be to be outside though. There was plenty of bar staff so you didn’t wait long for a drink but not a lot of staff to clean up the copious amounts of broken glasses from patrons. It seems that either the glasses are easily breakable or there was more than usual glass breakages. There was a bar snack menu that looked alright but I didn’t have a chance to try anything this time. All in all, an alright bat if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit or organise drinks here. It feels like it lacks something. It is bar meets nightclub with more emphasis on nightclub.

Came here for a girls night out and dinner. We had a group of 6 so we all shared a range of dishes. We ordered the bang bang chicken salad, prawn and chilli pizza, pumpkin and feta pizza, fries and calamari. Everything was perfect, tasty and large portions!!! They even had brought out our prawn pizza which they slightly burnt on one side but offered it to us plus the new prawn pizza. Great service and atmosphere will come here again with the girls on another night. Best hot chips too!!!

I like The Garden for its open and relaxed ambiance. You have many different beers and wines to choose from. The Garden has inside and outside seating with a limited food menu also. It is in the hip leafy suburb of Leederville.

I normally enjoy coming here as the atmosphere as always pretty relaxed. They very rarely seem to have problems here with drunken idiots. The guys behind the counter are always friendly but the girls are always rude. They do only serve beer and wine and you sometimes have to wait 15minutes or so to be served. I haven’t had much of the food but of what I did have it was very good. They are really great for big groups as they have a ton of seats available. The whole place is open air so make sure to wear a hat if you come in during the hotter hours of the summer days.

Went here last week thinking I was going to have a quiet birthday dinner with my girlfriend and brother and his wife but turned out she surprised me by inviting all my friends! I love the garden it was great they accommodated us all in there but wouldn’t allow more than the 19! The food is cheap and great as always and big servings too! The only thing I disliked was the slower service for the food and coming to ask us what we wanted for dinner we had to get up and ask someone for some service other than that it was really good and would recommend to anyone

Great casual hangout for friends. Also good for people watching! Nothing fancy but nice enough on a sunny day.

A cool, chilled out place for a few drinks and nibble. Ample space to hang out, from the relaxed beer garden to the roof top overlooking the area. The restaurant is large and modern. Frothed over the Strawberry Mojito served in a carafe, perhaps it was meant for sharing but one to yourself is always memorable. Don’t drive afterwards. We snacked on crispy calamari, coated in a peppery batter, downed the arancini balls in three bites and the chips and aioli were lovely and fresh! The perfect spot for a Sunday session.

Average. Not many options on the menu, bar is kind of messy… Would be good if they were open until late, closing at midnight is frustrating, even on winter.

I feel like I should love and enjoy the Garden more than I actually do. I don’t know what it is — everything about it is good, fine… but I’m just not feeling it! Whether you sit outdoors or indoors, it’s fine. I’ve never had a bad meal there — the food’s always good. I just don’t get excited about it so there’s something just doesn’t hit the mark for me but I haven’t been able to pinpoint it yet. It’s been around for a while now so perhaps it could do with a revamp to keep up with the pace at which Leederville continues to evolve. Nevertheless I’d never NOT recommend anyone go there.

There’s nothing wrong with the Garden, it’s pretty consistent. However, it has such potential to be more — it’s location and indoor/outdoor seating really sets it up as a go to place. Sadly, the menu hasn’t changed in a while… In fact I can’t think if it’s ever been updated since it opened. The wine list gets a revival every so often which is really positive and their current house white wine is very tasty for the price point of $ 8. I think they’re resting in operational mode at the moment, which it’s fair but especially during the summer months there should be more of a wow factor — perhaps an outdoor cooking station, or a film festival(given the insanely huge tv wall).

Just not a fan of here. Been here a few times & never really felt like it made me want to come back in a hurry. It seemed to be the only bar open in Leederville on New Years Day & that’s why we went in. No single shorts, only shorts in a jug! What! Why!!! All I wanted was a vodka & tonic not a jug of some fruit fueled mixed drink. I like the set up of the bar but the ambiance just isn’t there for me.

After many evenings spent having dinner and casual drinks at the Garden, you could probably consider me a regular here. The venue is great with an indoor/outdoor dining area and a great bar and beer garden, which is perfect when the weather is warm but not so fantastic during winter. However they usually have nice mulled cider in winter which makes it a little more bearable to sit outside in the cold. I have heard mixed reviews from people about the restaurant, but I have been here so many times and never had a bad meal and I have never had a complaint about the service(and I am always particular about good service). It gets really busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so if you are a big group or wanting to get a seat make sure you get there early. For those of you planning on having a big night, keep in mind they do close at midnight on Friday and Saturday, so by early I mean before 7.30/8pm. They could definitely improve on their choice of music, however some nights they have entertainment(think muscly, topless, fire twirling men) which isn’t for everyone but I’m definitely a fan. Also if you are a lover of sweet white wines like myself, their Chalk Hill moscato is one of my faves! I haven’t had a bad night here(yet), and as the weather warms up I would recommend heading to The Garden to give it a try.

Been to The Garden a few times now and each time I seem to leave the same way… a little underwhelmed and not quite satisfied. The place itself is very big and open and theres heaps of places to dine whether your more of an indoor diner or outdoor lover seating is aplenty! The service is also notably friendly and orders come out quick, I would say they’re not the most attentive though… especially when its quiet. thats a bit of a let down. Food is a hit n miss, I love the chorizo and garden fries for starters! The pizzas aren’t quite there for me… the base is just too thin and ‘crusty’. The menu changes from time to time which is nice to see and they’ve always got interesting choices to choose from! Overall I would say there’s better places in Leederville however its a great place for large groups, drinks and small bites to eat!

Yeah, I’m going to have to pass. Based on the décor and general atmosphere, I REALLY wanted to like this place. It’s cute, it’s funky, it’s adult play school with booze. It just works. Everything else, however, does not work. The food? :Shudders:. Shockingly bad. How do you mess up pub food? I’ve got a real soft spot in my heart for pub food because some places in Perth just nail it. Out of a table of 6, only one person didn’t complain about the food. I don’t know who you got working in that kitchen, Garden, but I’m willingly to put a large sum on that fact that they lied on their resume about previous chef experience. Also, who runs out of avocados? Come on, that’s just silly. The drinks and typical fare. The wine list is underwhelming and the cider on tap is underwhelming. Little selection, high prices. Garden, this is Leederville. You really need to up your game and fire your chef. Until then, I won’t be back.

The Garden sits somewhere between the two to three star mark for me. It’s probably easiest to break down my review as follows: Venue — the garden style setting with the lovely big gum tree smack bang in the middle is lovely ~ 4 stars. Food — average. Had a prawn and pancetta pizza and salt and pepper calamari. The pizza base tasted like cardboard and the salt and pepper calamari tasted like it came out of a frozen pack at Coles. Don’t waste your pennies ~ 2 stars. Drinks — they have a pretty standard wine and beer list. Wine is priced pretty well with glasses starting at $ 7. The beers tend to be super expensive ~ 3 stars. Also note that they do let you pay with eftpos at the bar for any amount now — hooray for paypass!

I’ve been to the Garden heaps of times; I love it on a Sunday. They have great pizza and jugs and always have entertainment. Every one there is so friendly and it always has a great vibe. I used to love Shucking Sundays(which has stopped now). They would have fresh oysters with heaps of different dressings to choose from. It was the greatest, but still a must to go on a Sunday for a bite to eat and a few drinks.
