Not much to say really. The food is bland and tasteless, the coffee is absolutely terrible, tasted pretty much like water furthermore expensive. I ordered the Prosciutto Salmon, which looked very appetising in the photo; an elegantly created meal that included a nicely cooked piece of salmon on mashed potatoes lightly drissled with hollandaise sauce. I received something that was very similar to what was advertised in the photo, however it seemed very average i.e. woolworths packaged food average; disappointing! The salmon was obviously frozen, or kept in some type of sealed long term packaging; I could see the layer of compression on the surface of the fish which stood out in comparison to the rest of the meat. Back to the coffee, the coffee looked ok upon delivery — nothing out of the orindary, however the taste was awful. The coffee served to me was less intense than english tea with a slight pinch of frothed milk! Stinks! Amongst all the bad things that I’ve spoken of so far I have yet to include any good news. The staff seem very nice, the lady serving me at the time at Mawson did a fantastic job and even threw in an extra garlic bread for free; fantastic. This was probably the only reason I didn’t give Caffe Primo at Mawson Lakes a 1 star rating. In conclusion, do not come here if you are seeking a 5 star main course or a great cup of coffee. The food and drink served here is barely on par with what you can get from your local typical takeaway joint.

Having visited many times in the past five or six years there was a time when I would’ve rated café primo Mawson Lakes with three or four stars. I would’ve commented on affordability, good food, availability of some decent(though somewhat narrow) drink choices, and a modern contemporary atmosphere with great service. No longer. While my recent meal(Mediterranean salad) was delicious, our overall experience was not so great. First, the signage at the front and the large canvas banner is well past it’s prime and needs replacing. Second, the interior is tatty with dirty marks on the ceiling around vents, paint that is full of dents and marks, furnishings that are getting shabby along with dust and cobwebs up on the ceiling and around the fixtures. Third, our meals arrived(quite quickly) with my wife’s chicken salad arriving on a dirty plate(mine was also dirty underneath). My wife’s meal was courteously replaced and free drinks were offered by way of an apology(We declined as we had already paid for drinks). Fourth, both Versions of my wife’s meal arrived with avocado on top. The avocado did not look particularly appetising and we would much prefer an apology and explanation that the avocado was simply not good today. Fifth, the garlic bread arrived(a single large, awkward pizza sized garlic bread rather than the smaller convenient sizes that are normally provided) much too late for us to really enjoy since we had both almost finished our meals. Plates were offered for the garlic bread, but sadly both plates provided were also not clean. All in all a very disappointing experience.

11/01/2012 Photos Oh my — a lot of people have rated this really really low. From my perspective, I’m so happy that there is somewhere near my house that can fix my «spaghetti bolognese» cravings. It’s only a short drive away… and I always call them on the way to make sure I get my spaghetti all ready made by the time I arrive. There is something about Italian food that always satisfies my primal hunger pangs. Once I’m through with you spaghetti, I feel nothing about pure satisfaction coming from my soul. I will have to work this off at the gym though as a result of all the calories I gained from this dish. I Italian food! Their chicken dishes and pizzas are not that bad. Let’s just say when I’m hungry, this place solves that problem really quickly! Other observations: 1. The waitresses here are cute. Very cute. 2. The embarrassing fact that I always get the orange sauce on my shirt, and if I’m wearing a white business shirt, it’s off to the laundry as soon as I get home. I’ve come back here so many times I got their number high up on my to-dial list.

I’ve never been much of a Primo fan, and this one is no exception. It is in a nice area, has a very nice building with rooms to rent above it and the same menu and layout as others. But their food, even though there is some variety and it’s cheap, never seems to impress me. I more go to Primo because it is the only thing around, but in Mawson lakes there are quite a few others nearby which offer similar styled food of a much higher quality. Primo is a always busy, loud, fast and you know what you’re in for. I always order the same things(chicken ceasar salad, butter chicken or risotto) and you get your pancake or garlic bread on the side depending which time of day. But Primos aren’t anything special, I’ve never had a bad experience really or horror food story, they just don’t leave me feeling as though I want to come back real soon.

This place gave me my worst ever pizza. I don’t even know how to start to describe how awful it was. It was a takeaway that we’d ordered because we were staying a a hotel up the road, and they delivered to the hotel. Not a bad thing, particularly as it was after 8pm and we’d just driven for about six hours, and for some reason, finding a place in Adelaide to eat is difficult on a week night if you’re not a local. Long story short, after sampling the pizza here, I will never, ever order another dish from this place. Ever.

Ugh. I don’t think I have had a worse pizza experience than I have this place. I only ordered from them because they looked busy driving past, and they happened to deliver to the hotel. The pizza was cold for starters, but even if it had been hot I don’t think it would have made it anymore enjoyable. It lacked flavour, and the crust was extremely doughy. I literally ate a slice and threw the rest out. There are not a heap of options in Mawson Lakes, but there are certainly better than this place.
