The food was great and large portions, but they were not able to split the bill. Very good coffee and fresh squeezed juice was a treat!

Tucked away down causeway lane off little Collins street is this gem of a café. Set up for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Coffee was terrific, Melbourne quality coffee which really hit the spot after a red eye from perth. Meeting up with a couple of friends for breakfast I found the Spanish omelet was an absolute delight to eat. Nice balance between the egg and cheese. The other dishes looked and must have been tasty because the plates were left clean, so the serving size was just right too. Staff very friendly and efficient

Ate here with some friends a while back. Eggs a la mer were great, eggs cooked to a good level with a soft yolk. Coffee was good, well rounded and slightly bitter finish. Service friendly. Would go again.

Only came here for a soy cappucino… So from what I understand… Melbourne is the mecca of coffee in all of Austrailia. Which now, I’m coming to realize is so true. Gordon’s cap was ok, but seriously, I’m comparing to the other million amazing caps I had around city. The Melbournians are right, can’t go wrong with ANY coffee shops in Melbourne.

I love breakfast, and after reading the reviews here, I was psyched to try Gordon’s. But this place just didn’t work for me on any level. Overpriced, mediocre food in an environment that feels like a David Jones store. I tried their egg & cheese breakfast wrap(sans bacon)($ 14) with a flat white(4.50) and toast(3.00). Unfortunately, each had issues. In Sydney(one of the most expensive food cities on earth) I can get an amazing egg & cheese wrap bursting with flavor and ingredients for $ 9. At Gordon’s, the $ 14 wrap was bare — just egg & cheese, not even salt and pepper, and the eggs and cheese themselves were quite bland. The flat white was very small, and very, very bitter — like the beans were off or something. This actually kind of shocked me as this was the only really bad coffee I had in Melbourne out of dozens of tries across a number of places. The toast itself was fine, but when having a breakfast that costs over $ 20, would be nice to have jam and butter that doesn’t come in Kraft single serve packages. It does have outside seating, and it shares the lane with a bunch of high end boutique stores. Please note: If you are vegetarian there are only a very few options on the menu for you, and if you are vegan, fuhgeddaboudit.

We’ve been visiting Gordon’s for breakfast on Saturday for a year now, and love it every time. Great coffee, great omelettes, and fantastic staff.
