I came here because I was craving some Chinese food and decided to try it out. It’s a pretty dingy looking café with messy printed out menu papers lining the walls and a Spongebob poster in the corner. Customer Service: One woman running the whole show so kudos to her! She seemed nice enough. A little bit impatient and talks forcefully, but she’s not extremely rude or anything like that. Food: There is an okay amount of variety on the menu, though unfortunately they didn’t have Xiao Long Bao like I hoped for. There’s still definitely a lot of room for expansion. I ordered 6 pieces of fried potstickers and Rice Noodle with Beef in Black Bean Sauce. The potstickers weren’t very good. They were edible and filling, but the meat was very chalky on the inside and fell apart when you bit into it rather than being a nice wrapped together nugget. The Rice Noodle w/Beef in Black Bean Sauce was pretty good though — a little spicy because of the peppers, but the beef was chewy and delicious, the noodles were soft and well cooked, and it was overall a really good value. — You can probably find much better Chinese places on Little Bourke Street, but this one is pretty cheap and not so bad so if you’re nearby and craving Chinese, I suppose it’s worth a try. — Room for Improvement: ~ Clean up their restaurant a bit. It wasn’t dirty, but making it look a bit classier can’t hurt. ~ Adding more variety to their menu. It wasn’t incredibly limited, but some really popular dishes you would expect to see in every Chinese restaurant were unavailable. ~ Better potstickers. Have the meat in a nice nugget rather than just falling apart.
