In a bit of a hurry I scurried in to Emporium to grab a quick food court meal on the run. Ramen Ya was the first I saw and it was freezing outside, so I figured ramen was a good bet. I waited a bit longer than expected, but eventually had a hot bowl of Charshu ramen, their house specialty with sliced marinated pork. A couple of mouthfuls and I was done. The noodles were chewy, the soup wasn’t hot enough and all I could taste was seaweed. I’d love to try and find the pros here, but there was no nice pork taste, just seaweed. With no time to order more food, I left hungry and running late. They have other dishes here like curry, sushi and bento boxes. Might be the way to go if I were to ever try it again. Not sure if it was a one off because I’ve been to other Ramen Ya stores before and it’s been ok, but on this occasion their signature dish was not my cup of tea.
