Small portions and chicken pad Thai is unpleasant. The chicken is dry and brown and looks really old. Wouldn’t go back.

I like it here because they always have some available tables and its a little out of the way on the ground floor of the emporium. What can I say about the ambiance? It’s in a shopping mall but still feels nice. It allows you to step outside the busy madness of city shopping and take a quiet moment to take stock. The service is very efficient. You order at the counter, they give you a number for the table and very soon your order arrives. The food is quite nice. I ordered beef Pad Thai. Not a great deal of beef but delicious and I really like the way they placed the chilli flakes and peanuts on the side. I’ll go back, cause I like it here. Very reasonably priced.

My first impression of the menu is the food is cheap. But when my soup noodles with prawn dumplings arrived, I was disappointed with both the quantity and quality. The broth tasted like 2 minute instant broth or loaded with MSG. Prawn dumplings were slightly overcooked and there was hardly any noodles. I didn’t expect a lot from a dish that costed me less than $ 10 but I did expect something a little more substantial especially considering there are other competitive soup noodles that deliver on quality and quantity for a similar price. For example, Vietnamese phở, Japanese ramen, Chinese dumpling soup noodles and Malaysian Laksa. My feedback is to work on the quality and quantity to align with other Asian soup noodles at a similar price. Also, have napkins at the table instead of providing one small napkin when you dine in.

Sometimes I feel a bit«chopsticky» where I want some delicious Asian noodles. This place is located in a little noodle corner in the basement level of Emporium. There’s a phở place, a ramen joint and this Thai place. Not a bad spot when you’re feeling a little noodle-y. I ordered the prawn pad thai and was just slightly disappointed with the ratio of bean sprouts to noodles. In my opinion the noodles should outweigh the sprouts by about 2:1(and technically they do because noodles are heavier but by volume on the plate there should be more noodles). But for under $ 10 I guess I shouldn’t complain. Aside from that the dish had a lovely flavour and was evenly balanced. I lovely surprise show the spice crept up on you while eating. Initially I thought I should add some sauce or something because I like spicy food but as I worked my way through it showed up in a really nice way. As far as atmosphere goes, you can’t expect much from a shopping centre quick food joint but it’s a good spot for people watching and there is a frozen yoghurt place just outside of you feel like a sweet treat afterwards. I would go again, but probably not any time soon as there is so much other stuff to try in the Emporium.
