I enjoyed the different types of spring rolls they had. They also had choices for different sauces. Great branding. They’ve got Phở and Banh mi sandwiches as well. It was a cool spot and they’ve got tons of locations in the city. Roll me some more!

I walked into Roll’d and was immediately taken aback by the server demanding to know, «Are you paying by cash or card?» before I’d even had a chance to look at the menu or even decide if I wanted to eat there! The menu, when you are given a minute to peruse, is simple — summer rolls, banh mih, phở and a variety of sides. My pork belly banh mih was as fresh as one should be — beautiful crusty bread and vibrant salad ingredients. However, it was too light on pâté and mayo, and therefore quite lacking in flavour. My lunch mate was also given the wrong summer roll, which I suspect was a result of the server being in too much of a rush and not listening properly. Great for an easy weekday lunch but nothing special.

Literally the best thing you can do with a $ 10 for lunch. I frequent Roll’d on my lunch breaks for that perfectly healthy and flavourful lunch time meal. The house combo of a cup of phở and 2 rice paper rolls is a big feed for when you’ve had a super busy morning, skipped breakfast and all of a sudden it’s 2:30 and you’re starving. I also am a big fan of the classic salads full of crunchy veggies I should be eating and doused in a delicious dressing that makes me forget how healthy the shaved cabbage is. There’s some really good low carb options for those days when you want to pretend you don’t miss vermicelli(in low carb phở it’s replaced with enoki and more veggies and in the rolls more cabbage takes its place). They also offer an order online&pickup system which I’m keen to try out sometime this week since the lines can get a bit irritable some days.

No way as good as a typical Vietnamese restaurant. The Phở tastes watered-down, and they don’t offer the Vietnamese herbal leaves to add into the soup.

My obsession with rice paper rolls continue. They’re just so goooood! Roll’d is no exception — great variety, great price and usually fresh, fresh, fresh. I think I’m also slightly addicted to their spicy hoisen sauce — yum! I want to try their other dishes but the words ‘rolled soldiers please’ keep spilling from my mouth before I can stop. Barramundi rolls a go-go!

We all have those days, where lunch falls to the bottom of your priority list and your best shot at eating for afternoon is to inhale something on the run between meetings. Fast food mostly certainly has a place, but I despise it because of the usual association with terrible, poor quality food. Roll’d fits into the new wave of fast food joints that have started to appear. The food is quick and cheap, but it’s decent and doesn’t leave you feeling ashamed for having eaten there out of necessity. Want a few rice paper rolls on the go? You’ll have change from $ 10 and they’re ready to go. Don’t have time to slurp and savour an entire Phở? They now have them in snack cup size to go. I was a regular at one of the other Roll’d locations when I worked in the CBD and it’s great to see them popping up around town to ease the lunch burden of busy workers. If they started to appear in those convenience centres along the Hume Hwy for those long road trip breaks, I’d have no complaints!

Who can say no to refreshing rice paper rolls and peach ice tea! Roll’d is advertised as hawker style food and I went to the one in Hardware Lane after a long week of work. What a treat! We tried the BBQ Chicken $ 3.4 and Tofu $ 2.8 roll which we scoffed in about 3 minutes. Each roll comes with a side sauce(extra sauce $ 0.5 each) and we were very happy with the spicy hoisin and the nuoc mam. All the food on the other tables look really fresh and smelled great but as we had dinner reservations I will have to update on other dishes some other time. By the way, if you buy over $ 5 you can add a peach iced tea for $ 1.50. Best addition EVER!

One of the best place for lunch in the City under $ 15 including drink. Long queue and scrambling for a seat to eat is always a great indication of its popularity as their food is always consistent. Yes it is a fast-food style, not an up-market joint, however they can be proud of the fact that their registers is ringing busier than Maccas. Even their meal deal for around $ 10 is better than those offered a few doors away :-) This place is so efficient, everything is so pre-prepared from it’s many sauces and paper rolls and that’s the only thing that I would watch for as those paper roll skins can be a little dried after sitting in the display fridge for a while.

Really cool location, and very popular. The phở was decent, nothing to write home about. The pork sandwich was okay. I thought it would be warm. but its was cold. I don’t think Ill be back, but you might like it?

Yes, Roll’d may be a chain, and they may not serve the cheapest banh mi — but they get a good wrap from me nonetheless. They deliver delicious Vietnamese food, with some unique combinations and flavours in their dishes. This is a hot spot for lunch breaks in the CBD!

Living in the CBD we’re always looking for a new takeaway place that isn’t the usual junk food. Roll’d is fantastic. Healthy, freshly made, cheap, a bit of variety on the menu and it tastes pretty good. Best of all it’s open at breakfast, lunch, the evening and on weekends! Perfect.

Hooray, there is a Roll’d location for the central city walkers that can’t get away(e.g. lazy) for long enough to battle through the lunchtime footpaths to get to William Street or QV. Excellent news for my office(me) who are terribly excited by the prospect of a 3 minute walk for soft shell crab soldiers. Day one and the staff look a little apprehensive, nervous but thankfully there looks to be a bit of experience on hand from the other stores. The fit out is rather lovely, with a nice big mural on the wall, giving you something pretty while waiting for the noms. The place doesn’t look really setup yet for the dedicated solider line so I’ll watch with interest how they handle that. Only time will tell.
