As a ex-Sydney gal wandering through Melbourne, seeing this little place brought back and out a rush of fun memories. I don’t know if it’s by the same people but the little morsels of deliciousness is the same as I remember from my misspent youth. The Sydney branch name was called The Emperors Golden Balls. Which is essentially(hilariously) what they are! A machine can be seen on the right, and with a turn, a quick squeeze of batter into the moulds, a few turns to press them together and ta-daaaah! Perfectly golden and delightful balls. Wonderfully crisp on the outside with a warm, deliciously gooey center. Each bite is delightfully moreish! And at only a couple of dollars a pop for 5, you can get a little carried away with the bites. It’s worth keeping an eye out for this little hole in the wall and since coming home, there’s definitely regret that I didn’t make it back a couple more times. So get in whilst you can!
