History

Established in 2015.

The bar was created to reference the rich history of the area and to enjoy some of the best city skyline views in the area from both our wrap around balcony and designer interior.

From rather less that auspicious beginnings, the genesis of which involved falling into his father’s homebrew kit at age six and going unnoticed for two days, Tim Wastell has developed a love of the alcoholic beverage that has grown in direct relation to his stonking palate.

After placing third at the Australian Bartender Magazine’s ‘Australian Bartender of the Year’ competition for more consecutive years that he cares to remember, Tim finally won something, taking out the title of ‘Australian Bar Manager of the Year’ at the Australian Bar Awards ceremony in 2009.

«My idea of a great bar is one that takes its drinks very seriously indeed, but not itself. I’ve always said that people go to bars to meet their next ex-​partner and a jovial environment is just as important as a great wine list. Waterslide will be equally focused on providing both and I highly recommend dropping in and pulling up a stool at the bar.
