What an amazing place! I know we all flock to Sculptures by the Sea (and why not it’s a brilliant setting) but who knew that some of this same sculptures are located on a property in the Swan Valley/​Middle Swan
Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Park is one of the oldest privately owned galleries in Western Australia. Established 1982 in the Swan Valley on 4.5 hectares with sculpture grounds that are a continuous work in progress.
The indoor Gallery provides five large exhibition spaces to exhibit established and emerging artists of all disciplines.
It blew my mind that I could walk around (for free) around the owners property and look at all the fabulous sculptures. One of the owners/​sculptor was on the grounds whipper snippering the grounds and more than happy to have a chat.
I don’t know why the Swan Valley isn’t screaming and saying go visit there! It’s definitely a great tourist spot amongst all the tummy food and wineries.
Do yourself a favour– go check it out.
With so many privately owned galleries closing down in recent years– what more can I say! Go just go!
