Baines is cheap bedding and bathroom stuff. Cheap is the key word in price and in quality. This place is full of ugly looking bed sets, quilt covers and cushions. As well as the standard doonas, pillow cases and towels. It may look like a bargain, but I doubt that this stuff is going to last very long. It is definitiely not going to make your house look stylish that is for sure.

Baines is the manchester man. Manchester is one of those things that people seldom intend to buy when they return home with a bathmat, tea towels and new doona set because it was on sale. Baines is perfect for preying on such necessary evils– I was suckered in by the well arranged linen sets, singles up the top and each shelf got BIGGER– hooray for organisation– I used to think that large chains like target or BIG W would offer competitive manchester but I have since learned that everywhere charges exorbitant amounts unless they’re having a sale.(back to the sleeping bag, that’s what I say) but.. . as I browsed the likes of some striped sets caught my eye as did the friendly staff who stopped their work related gossip to ask if i needed help. The selection of shower curtains was average– but who has shower curtain now a days? So I appreciated the blast from the past. The towels were cute– incorporating the hood of a towel as a shark head was pure genius, and i even found a gothic fairy set– a life time ago I would have sold myself to slavery for that set. Good times. The shop is well set out and great for brainstorming, but when asked if anything is on a «low profile» the staff will honestly offer less expensive alternatives. Baines has got the bedroom cased.
