Oscar’s Hangout

Average experience, no atmosphere, chicken not quite cooked and burger was focaccia bread. Good service helped a pretty nondescript café.

The fries are some of the best I’ve eaten! Large, with crisp surface, just the right consistency inside, and packed with flavour. Worth the visit on their own. Friendly service and kid & pram friendly.

Great breakfast! Really good pancakes and great eggs too. Really casual place with friendly staff. Can take a while for your food too come but if you are not in a rush, it is not such a big deal

A lovely restaurant and café… if you can find it!
Both times I have visited Oscar’s Hangout, my dining companions have seemed apprehensive about the lack of direct street frontage. If it weren’t for the car park we would have totally missed it.
Once inside, however, you will find a down to earth, family-​friendly café by day and a chilled out restaurant by night. Servings are very generous and the meals are all very tasty. Try the mushroom quesadilla for a change to the standard bacon and eggs breakfast — it made me a believer!

We came here for dinner on Halloween night on a Wednesday. Not sure if its normally open, but it was fairly quiet. They only have a liquor licence until 7,30pm, and the waitor was really good to let us know and make sure we ordered our last drinks before they couldn’t serve us liquor anymore. The menu selection is pretty good and has a range of options. I ordered a salad, minus the proscuito and this was no trouble for them. The food was of a decent size and the quality was amazing. The lights are a little dim, but it created a good atmosphere. We were the last ones there, and the waiter was really nice for not kicking us out, i’m sure he stayed longer than his finish time to allow us to finish our conversations. Nicely little restaurant, that if i lived in the area would be a regular hangout. The beer selection was good too, got to have a mornington peninsula pale ale!

Great service and delicious foods. The cheeky chicken & here fishy fishy are my two favourite meals. Plus the chips served here are seriously the best chips I’ve had. Will be coming back regularly when I’m in the area.
The place is also surprisingly kid friendly and the staff welcome the little ones. It’s just fantastic here.
