I seldom look forward to food court food as nothing really ever appeals to me… It’s always a case of same food, different food court. I always walked past this corner shop in the food court as it is conveniently located right by one of the shop entries. It took a while until I decided to give it ago and when I did try a sushi, I swear I kicked my trolley. How could I have resisted this place for long? Anyways, there wasn’t time to waste, I lined back up. On the next couple of visits to the Mt Ommaney shops, I tried out the rest of the food like the Ramen and Bento Box. Eh, not so great! Back to the sushi. When I ordered the ‘Steak Bento Box’ I was really expecting a winner because the name of the place is Japanese Bento, so to me it was suggesting this was their speciality. It was just, OK. As it is food court food, I will let this slide, I should not expect it to match up to restaurants quality. As I ate my so-so Bento meal, I realised I was eating out of a Styrofoam Bento box! Now, that’s not environmentally friendly guys. Wasn’t Styrofoam phased out a while ago? It had to be because, Styrofoam(or polystyrene) is the 5th greatest creator of hazardous waste and it is dangerous to those who produce it and those who eat out of it. So am I in danger? No, not really… But I don’t like places who still use it, it just has negative impacts all round. Next time I line up here, I’ll be sure to stick to the sushi and not eat their bento box meals until conditions improve.

When I saw that a Japanese Sushi place was opening up in the Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre food court, words cannot express how excited I was, they really can’t, so I won’t. The old food court was so daggy you could practically call it a corner instead of a court, and even spiders wouldn’t have cast their webs there. Then the whole place was renovated and looks modern and beautiful now, secret yay! The sushi rolls are just want you want for what you pay, bursting at the seams with good quality filling. They are cheaper than Go Sushi and Sushi Sushi, the rolls are larger and much tastier, why would you not want to walk all the way across the whole shopping centre when you’ve parked ages away just for a few rolls. I would. It’s a no brainer. Don’t know how healthy they all are seeing they do put quite a bit of the yummy Japanese Mayo into the sushi rolls. How can things not taste good with that special mayo. Seriously tasty. Worth lining up for, there is usually a pretty healthy line for sushi during lunch times. Bonus thing, they also have noodle soups, yakiudon noodles and karaage chicken and rices, but they aren’t as good as the sushi, so stick to what they do best I reckon. I am getting hungry just writing a review on it, I’m going there now.
