Had lunch today at café. Very expensive for not much on the plate. Food was average. Ordered seafood plate. Came with a lot of tough calamari bits, 2 small teeny prices of whiting, and two prawns! Son would not touch calamari on his plate. Coffee was ok though. Atmosphere was wonderful. Nice little enclosed playground area. No eftpos available at café. But you can use the in house ATM and get slugged a fee for use. Would be nice to see some good old fashioned«café» food on menu at a decent price. Won’t be going back to café.

I have been here a few times and usually grab a focaccia sandwich and a cappuccino. This place is on the pricer side for sandwiches and coffees but location makes up for that. Unfortunately, even with all the great amenities for families, water goers and even your park gym junkies, this still doesn’t compensate you for the burnt tasting coffee and toasted sandwiches with very little fillings. I know I shouldn’t keep buying it if its that bad, but like I said, it’s a nice spot to stop for 5 in the morning and just take in the atmosphere.

Had lunch, very disappointed. Calamari was horrible and the Balsamic Beef was packet beef. What a bugger cause its such a nice location.

Riding to Deep Water Point is a great idea. The cycle paths along the river are fabulous and what a view you get! There is a fair bit of water skiing and jet skiing going on in the water, so I’m not sure how safe it would be for swimming. The café offers a nice cold drink or ice cream after a walk or ride and it is lovely to just sit there and watch the world go by. From here, you can cycle or walk under the freeway as well, and that is always interesting. The kids are thrilled to be able to do that.
