Not bad, not great either. Had the«Chow Down» which is one of their large breakfast offerings consisting of the usual poached eggs, hash, toast, meat(venison chipolatas and bacon), mushroom and tomatoes. Great value for price… there was quite a bit of food there but no flavors really stood out. I also had the banana bread french toast, which was underwhelming. I found the serving size to be rather small(2 thin slices of bread). Their banana bread was compact and dense, therefore it barely soaked up any french toast batter. it just tasted like regular banana bread coated in syrup. The coffee was terrible. I ordered a long black and had to force myself to finish it. I’m not that picky when it comes to coffee, but It was not good… at all. Service was quick even though they were busy and the staff were friendly. They have some interesting items on their menu(rabbit and pork tacos?), but there are so many other brunch places around. I would give them another try, but not for awhile.

Eggs Benedict are really good. The bread that came with the dish is a bit fried. Corn bread is delicious. The staff is super friendly. Restroom downstairs can get a bit toasty.

Very warm reception. We had our 7 weeks old baby with us and the waitress was adorable with all of us. I breastfeed my baby with no problems. The place is small, quite tight, but you don’t really mind it when you receive such a good treatment. Food was excellent. We had a Special of the Day Omelette with chicken and leak. I loved it. Very yummy. Full of flavor. I love fresh juice and, despite the menu says«no modifications», I had a delicious carrot and orange juice without the ginger. Definitely will go back.

I don’t know what the fuss is about this place. It constantly makes local lists of breakfast cafés you must try but I’d happily give this one a miss. The food is right. Sometimes good but servings are small, prices are high, service is slow and it’s always packed. We always get sat at the same table– upstairs in front of the hot windows facing a busy road. Try others in New Farm before this one.

The food was good and service pretty good. Good location, a short walk from Story Bridge. We ordered the breakfast wrap, which came out really hot, was very tasty and a good portion. And the corn cakes was a big portion, but came with not quite enough avocado & salsa. I’m glad I ordered it with bacon otherwise it would be a bit bland. I ended up getting a side of sour cream to go with it. The juice special of the day(Apple, celery, ginger & kale) was really good.

Headed down on a Sunday morning for brunch around 11AM, there was already a waiting list so we jumped on. Ended up waiting about 20 minutes. And another 45 – 60 for the food. We both ordered eggs benedict which was amazing so I didn’t mind the wait. The café was constantly full so long wait times were understandable. Café owner is a great guy with excellent customer service and enthusiastic attitude, especially with managing an extremely busy café. Good to see.

I was happy to find such a lovely place in Brisbane, which has a good interior, the right atmosphere and delicious meals. I had egfs benedicts and I absolutely liked it! I will definitely come back to try the other meals. It was also great to see this place open at 7 am on Saturday.

Cirque is absolutely delicious. Go on a random Tuesday at a random early morning hour, because if you go during any other normal brunch time, you’ll be left outside waiting for a table for ages. Its THAT popular. El Hub and I thoroughly enjoyed our dishes, both involving toasts, poached eggs and freshy bits on top. The big wooden tables upstairs are inviting and homey. The coffee is silky. I honestly can’t think of a better brunch spot in Brisbane.

This is a cozy café/breakfast spot in a very trendy part of town. I had the baked eggs, which was delicious and a huge portion besides. At $ 15.50, not a bad price. We were there on a Saturday and we were lucky enough to get a decent place to sit, but it was definitely crowded. You may have to share your table with strangers, which was what we did. The menu is pretty diverse and they were serving breakfast all day(ie until 3pm when they close). They also had a good selection of lunch items. The layout is a little awkward and crowded, and when it rains the floor in the basement(where the toilets are) can get dangerously slippery, so watch out.

Cirque restored me and my troop of three companions humanity when we entered here feeling fairly miserable on a messy Sunday morning. The breakfast servings were pretty large and were spot on most of the pics shown here on Unilocal. You wouldn’t call it a super clean or wholesome breakfast option but it’s definitely a big cut above your standard ‘the lot’ mushy, greasy cook-up you get at some breakfast haunts. Great value for the price. Juices were fresh and delicious. The coffee was bitter, black, watery, Italian roast best for milk only — take it that way. Staff moved us inside as promised when a table of people left and were helpful and cheery the rest of the time. I hovered above the star rating for a second here because Cirque doesn’t offer anything hugely appealing or unique but what its doing its doing damn well. We all left really impressed, so 5 instead of 4 stars for me.

I’m going to say some things that just don’t add up to a 5 star review, but bare with me. I’d give the service here a 4⁄5. It’s good, fast, nice, but they kind of give off the feeling that they don’t need you. Not everyone is a valued customer. I enjoy coming here with my partner with our DS’s and chilling out for a while when we can. This means that when they leave us alone it really doesn’t bother me too much. They don’t make me feel like I’ve spent too much time. I’m going to say the atmosphere is a 4⁄5 as well. It’s chirpy, happy, spirited, but gosh darn it’s loud. Tables are packed in close together, so it’s annoying to get into your bench seat, but once in it doesn’t feel particularly packed(unless you’re sitting next to someone annoying). I’ve not been upstairs, always lucky enough to get a table downstairs, but apparently there’s a big table upstairs. Food gets 4⁄5 as well. They have a special board which must be changed about every fortnight, since sometimes it’s different when we go in and sometimes it’s not. First time I went to Cirque I had this cool salmon roe and some other fish mousse with whatever breakfast I had. Really good, and different. There menu is fine, sometimes the flavours seem really powerful rather than focused on one but I like to eat here. Price is also 4⁄5. I’m pretty stingy, it’s not the cheapest, but I think $ 40 for two meals and coffees(yeah I don’t know, are their coffees cheap?) is a great price. So why did I give Cirque 5⁄5 when this review clearly gives everything 4⁄5? Consistency. I know that I can go to Cirque and get a decent meal for a decent price. Being able to rely on a business like this is near unheard of in my experience in Brisbane. So to be able to know I can go to Cirque and have everything I know and enjoy, it gets bumped up an extra star. Great work.

I’d been looking forward to making it out to Cirque, as it’s one of the highest rated cafes around town. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly man behind the counter, and was led upstairs to a cozy area with chairs and tables and lilies in a vase. Even though I’m deathly allergic to pollen, lilies are one of my favorites(possibly cause I always had them around the house in Taiwan), and it added to the spring-fulness of the place! I honestly could not decide what I wanted to eat because everything looked awesomely delicious. Breakfast is my thing — but I surprised myself and ordered the Reuben Sandwich, which I don’t regret at all(even after smelling the eggs the group next to me were devouring). The meat tasted really fresh and not overcooked or acidic at all, wasn’t too salty, and went well with everything it was topped with — crème fraîche?, cheese, dill and sauerkraut. Oh, it was a glorious Reuben Sandwich! I havn’t had many, but this was one of the better ones. My chai latte was also delicious, and got me back in the mood to making them at home. Together, it came up to 17.5, which is decent in Brisbane, especially for the heavenly(and heavy) food. Thumbs up for the food, service, and ambience!

Here’s my rule: never eat at Cirque on a weekend. Unless you’re willing to stand outside for quite a while waiting for a table. It is THAT popular. For a long time Cirque has been that place that people say to you, «You have to go there for breakfast, it is one of Brisbane’s best.» And it is, the coffee(Geneovese) is always exceptional as is the food, but I will say as good as Cirque is they now have competitors for the title of Brisbane’s Best Breakfast. The atmosphere the times I’ve visited Cirque is quite familiar. They know regulars by name, almost like you’re part of the family, and it seems nothing is too much trouble when you ask a waiter your questions. Cirque is, I guess, one of those places you go(like Cheers) to feel comfortable, cosy and know that the experience will be consistently good.

You have to reeeeally like a place to be willing to sit outside on a tiny stool and wait for a table on a Sunday morning. You have to reeeeally love a place to do that while hungover. So I guess I love Cirque, because even when I’m starving, tired, hungover, and grumpy on a Saturday or Sunday morning I will happily wait for a table to enjoy my favourite Brisbane breakfast. The crowd and ambience here is really upbeat and buzzing and the staff seem to be having just as much fun as the customers. Since Cirque opened I never even need to think about where to go for breakfast and I’ve never once been let-down. I think my very favourite thing at Cirque is their tomato relish. It comes with most of their breakfasts and is basically a revelation when paired with scrambled eggs or mushrooms. They have loads of breakfast choices here, ranging from the traditional to more unusual. And their specials board never ceases to intrigue me, especially the crazy omelettes they come up with. I really can’t rave enough about the deliciousness of their breakfasts. Everything is so fresh and the colours on your plate are seriously vibrant. The coffee is good. The service is good. It’s ALL good. Seriously, I HEART this place.

For many people, the Sunday breakfast is more than just a meal… it’s a ritual. This is certainly true for me, although my Sunday sleep-in is also a ritual, and this is why I am constantly on the look out for the Holy Grail: the all-day breakfast. Luckily for me, one of Brisbane’s best is right on my doorstep. Cirque serves from its French-influenced breakfast menu from 7am to 3pm every day with lunch also available. The omelette and poached egg specials change every couple of weeks and the standard menu varies according to the season. Winter saw the open steak and mushroom pie(with poached eggs) feature regularly in my selections, while the current summer addition is a seared scallop dish. Cirque also scores brownie points for using my favourite coffee, Genovese. If you’re staggering into Cirque bleary-eyed on a Sunday morning(or afternoon), remember to try the Pine & Mint Frappé — it’s the world’s best hangover cure. You can thank me later.

Roll up Roll up! To the café of your dreams! We will take you on an adventure through culinary delights to stave off your hangover, feed your barren bellies or quench your caffeine thirst! The lines may be tiring and space limited but I assure you that once you have taken your seat you will be treated to one of the most satisfying breakfasts or lunches you are likely to experience this side of the moon. Au Cirque is a petite café on Brunswick street in New Farm and is always busy so for your first try I suggest going on a weekday, earlier the better as many weary souls whom had nights to forget wander in later in the day due to the all day breakfast(served untill 3pm). The Genovese coffee is great and the breakfast options are all equally enticing offering both Vegetarian and Non vego specialties. My last trip here I had the vego chow down which sounded amazing featuring perfectly cooked poached eggs, Parmesan crusted potato rosti, oven roasted roma tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, some of their incredible onion jam and sour dough to ground it. The staff here are great, all very attentive and efficient, friendly and chatty and the service is rather quick if you avoid the weekend rush. The specials they cycle through every two weeks or so are always very difficult to overlook as the flavor combinations and decadent, french inspired ingredients always seem to be a winner. One of the specials I remember specifically and am dying to try soon is the mushroom breakfast special consisting of six varieties of mushroom, truffle oil, french cheese and spinach, a gutbuster but a tempting one! Au Cirque would definitely have to be in my top 5 Breakfast restaurants in Brisbane!
