Second best coffee in Teneriffe after Campos(trust me, I’ve tried them all), and the staff are very friendly!

Walking into Dot 210 can feel quite strange. At first I thought I had walked into the kitchen by mistake! But no, that’s just where I had to order before deciding on which milk crate or small chair I would perch myself on to enjoy my coffee! In Teneriffe the coffee scene is competitive with more than 10 great places to drink a cup o’ Joe within walking distance of Dot 210, therefore I was interested to see how it would fair. When I was ordering I noticed that the layout of the place was quite funky with lights with pictures hanging from them, and statues of dogs outside, but I found it all a bit mismatched. I was little confused as to what the proprieters were trying to achieve by the design. On a brighter note, my coffee was pretty good with generous amounts of foam and a nice strong coffee taste to balance out the milk. Being so close to the river(just in front of Eve’s) Dot 210 is a cute little place to get a coffee to or from taking a walk along the board walk. They also seem to be accepting of people bringing their dogs to sit while they have their coffee. A nice little joint in leafy Teneriffe.

Dot 210 brings a homely feel to an otherwise industrial area of Teneriffe. Homely in the sense that the loungeroom is on the patio, complete with garden gnomes and statues of dogs. Pull up a cushioned chair, or crate, and admire the old wool stores and imagine trams careering down Vernon Terrace, circa the 1950’s. I popped in the entrance and received a bit of a shock; I’d felt like I walked into the owner’s kitchen. The shop itself is just one room, practically full with just a coffee machine, fridge and decorations. The lady working warmly welcomed me and literally made me feel at home. I ordered a soy latte and banana bread and took a seat on the patio. The soy latte was perfectly strong, with a good amount of foam. And the banana bread, well, wow. Crispy and warm on the outside, and fluffy and very banana-ery on the inside. Upon leaving, the waitress waved a big good bye and wished me a «wonderful day». I don’t think I’ve ever felt more at home in a stranger’s house!
