I was drawn into the shop by the promise of a $ 28 shampoo, style cut and blow dry. However, I was quoted a price of $ 38. When asked why $ 38 and not $ 28 as my hair is short(my hair length is just shy of my collar bone), I was told that the $ 28 price only applied if your hair length was above or around your ears. If this was the case, I would not need a haircut, only a fine sharp razor. For anyone with hair longer than mine, the price increases by 10 for each addition of a variable hair length. Anyway, despite the price confusion, my bag, jumper and other belongings were put in a closet(yay helps avoid getting hair on my stuff) before I was led down to a salon chair for hair washing. Hair smelling like watermelon candy, the hairdresser carefully examined my image of my desired haircut before getting to work. She spent over an hour making sure my hair was equal on both sides, matched the image exactly and then spent forever blow drying my hair. Result = amazing haircut and pretty much identical to the image I showed her. Pretty impressive. Plus she didn’t try to sell me any salon products. :)

I called on Sunday morning just as they were opening and made an appointment for 330pm. As I walked in, I couldn’t believe how fashionable and hipster the hairdressers looked. I actually felt a little intimidated. There were about 4 other people also getting their hair done… They offered to take my bag and then lead me to the basins. My hair was washed by one of the male hairdressers and I was then taken to Luna’s chair. She’s only been in Perth for two months and is here on a working holiday visa. Her English isn’t wonderful for general chitchat but she understands and communicates hairdressing talk very well. Another hairdresser, whose English was very good also came over and confirmed what I’d agreed upon(a few inches off and layers). Luna blow-dried my hair first with the assistance of the another hairdresser. She then continued cutting my hair. After cutting, she asked of I wanted it blow-dried, straightened or curly. I opted for curly. The bill? An amazing $ 48 for a wash, cut and style. I was so apprehensive about trying a new salon with a hairdresser I didn’t know but I’m so pleased with the result! Oh I forgot to mention. When the other hairdresser was talking to me and blow-drying my hair, she kindly dabbed my sweaty forehead(40′ day and I had run from the carpark to the salon) with a tissue. Talk about service!

My go to place for haircuts as they understand Asian hair. Just had my haircut there on Thursday with my girlfriend and went back today to get my hair coloured as I realised my roots were looking quite unacceptable. $ 38 for a hair cut which includes wash and blowdry(my hair is shoulder length, they charge more for longer hair) and $ 120 for colour — not too expensive especially since I got compliments for my hair the next day. I have two regular hairdressers there and they are both good, no complaints from me as they do look after you well.
