I must say that I love these shops, though I remember a time when you could only ever find one in the city. I guess that’s not the case anymore, especially for those who live in and around Nundah. Like many of these shops it has a collection that a geek like me could love. You can get cards, roleplaying games, books, t-shirts, and other strange and odd collectibles from Game of Thrones to Doctor Who(and a variety of other popular shows as well). They also run tournaments, and there are tables that anybody can come in and use to play games with others. It is pretty small, so you might find yourself squeezing around people if it happens to be full, but it still a pretty cool shop(at least as far as I’m concerned).

This is where you go for all your geeky goodness. Lots of geeky tshirts and the like, as well as various bits of pop culture merchandise. You can buy your D&D, Might & Magic, boardgames, etc stuff here, and they have tables for regular gaming sessions too. The prices can be a little steep, but you have to expect that from an independent store, but they also stock a lot of things that are difficult to find elsewhere. For me it was dice with more(and less) than six sides. The shop itself is tucked away on a side street in Nundah; get the parking wherever you can find it, there’s none at the store.

Popped into this trading card/comic/collectables shop as it’s quite close to home and I like to fancy myself a bit of a geek. Seemed to be quite a good range of collectables across several fandoms and tabletop game varieties. I’m getting back into playing Magic The Gathering after a long hiatus so I plan to go back and check that out in a little more detail. Also want to acquire several pieces from their Dr Who merch!

Fast Break sells everything game related — not the computer kind but role-playing, table top, board games and trading card games. They host weekly gaming sessions varying from WoW Trading Card games, Magic The Gathering, Pokemon and Yugio. They also sell figurines and other collectables. Everything a true geek could ever wish for. Buffy, Dr Who, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and more. This shop is a Brisbane institution and has been around for years.
