Myer Marion

I was having a decent time shopping at Myer Marion for my daughter when I heard a Myer staff member loudly berating another young staff in front of all the customers. She was an older blonde woman and I believe her name began with a J although I only heard it in passing. It was honestly despicable to see the work culture there and I can see why every time I return the staff changes so frequently while the older women stay longer.

Called at the Myer Marion Estee Lauder counter twice on Saturday morning. While the staff member was with a client doing their makeup, she did not acknowledge me at all either time (I stood in front of her), I was completely ignored me. Luckily for Myer another staff member eventually came from other counter, I ender up purchasing Lancome products, even though I had wanted to replace my 2 Estee Lauder products.
Myer Marion, some of your staff need training in how to provide good customer service — just not good enough.

Myer as a department store is priced at a somewhat reasonable level. With that said, the pricing of items at other department stores, such as Target and Kmart, can be almost half as much. Specials at Myer can be good though, so it is good to check out in the month of January and July.
The significant markup on some of the items does attribute to a difference in the department store’s appearance. Even though it is a large store, it is always clean and the items are all neatly placed. Corridors are kept clear and you rarely see people stocking shelves during the day (they must do it outside of trading hours).
Staff are friendly and the store is always spotless. The range is good for cosmetics, toys, jewellery and clothes. However, the technology range can be a bit of a hit-​and-​miss. To summarise, Myer is a good department store that is a tad pricey (good experience though) however is still cheaper than the department store David Jones.

I love Myer, mainly as the youth section for ladies and gents is far more extensive than other department stores (although DJs is trying ever so hard) and I really do love the Miss Shop in particularly for their basics range. But the Myer store at Marion suffers severely in the Clothing Departments with a true lack of staffing and attention to detail. Clothing is always strewn over the department and put in a slip shod fashion back on the racks. I find this a bit disappointing for a department store, especially as the nearby David Jones doesn’t appear to suffer from this issue.
Sales staff always look a bit tired and on several times I’ve had to wait awkwardly at the counter as the salesgirls finish their conversation. The store itself is in dire need of a refurbishment with stained carpets and paint stripped from the changing room floors. Myer, whether in the flagship city store or a suburban one should still aspire to top notch service and presentation. The homewares section is perfectly serviceable but I’ve been stuck with staff with lack of product knowledge on far too many occasions, disappointing when you’re looking to buy a big ticket item.
All that said, the ladies footwear department and a few of the men’s fashion departments have always been quite helpful and professional, although it took some searching to find assistance.
If it wasn’t for their Dangerfield line, I’d skip the Marion Myer and go straight to DJs for ladies fashion and homewares, leaving Myer visits strictly for their CBD store.

You’ll find your way to this Myer store one way or another. You have multiple entrances leading from the outside, plus an upstairs entrance and if that wasn’t enough, a downstairs entrance also. I prefer it to the city store either when I’m in the area, or willing to go out of my way to avoid paying squillons for parking. I like that in these poor economic times there always seems to be sale items in the fashion, accessories and fragrance departments and even though it’s not a huge store there is a fairly decent range. In a nutshell — happy, healthy department store shopping!

This Myer store has all your essentials, from clothing, makeup and jewelry, to kitchen ware, electrical, books and furniture.
If you’re looking for a bigger selection, I’d suggest the Myer Centre in the city which has multiple levels compared to Myer Marion’s 2 levels. This Myer still has a good selection, just not as big.
If you’re looking for some service or assistance you may struggle, there doesn’t seem to be many staff around and the ones who are there are already busy. I’d suggest more staff be put on for customer assistance.
If you are a visitor to Marion Shopping Centre, Myer is one place you have to go.
