Great food and an excellent atmosphere! Java lounge has got a great location and it’s right next to Paddington antiques. The food is great(although there isn’t really a stand out dish) and the staff and friendly. The mismatched furniture and the band posters decorating the back wall give the place an awesome vibe and it keeps me coming back for more! Definitely a staple for any Paddington dweller.

I went to the Java Lounge to have some breakfast(I ordered the vegetarian big breakfast and a frappé), which was nice and then got some work done for the rest of the morning. Unfortunately there was no wi-fi but the food and drink was pretty good!

I never seem to go wrong at the Java Lounge, they always have something delicious on offer. I stopped by for breakfast earlier in the week with my hubby and daughter. They were very welcoming, despite our dishevelled, exhausted appearance. The service was very prompt and we were able to put madam in one of their high chairs. I ordered the mushroom special and hubby ordered the French Toast — both were delicious. Yes, I did the steal off your husband’s plate thing.

I really like this place. My friend and i stopped in here for a bit of a late breakfast/early lunch. We were greeted with a very friendly, smiling staff member who directed us to a table. Service was fast, every single staff member was as lovely and kind as the last and the food was deceivingly filling, not to mention delicious! The only bad thing i would say about The Java Lounge is that their dining in coffee cup sizes are a bit small. My friend ordered a mug of flat white and what she got was a small tea cup. I ordered tea and my cup was just bigger then an espresso cup. Regardless, i would definitely come back.

Java lounge is one of those places where everything is good, but nothing stands out as absolutely awesome and makes you want to go back. We visited quite early on a Saturday morning and it was fairly busy but we managed to get a table. The interior is pretty straight forward. It’s simple, but lacking character and you can tell not too much thought has gone into it. The waitress was nice and efficient. The coffee was good. Breakfasts were good but nothing spectacular(we had eggs benedict & the breakfast bagel). Would I go back? If I lived in Paddington I would probably frequent here for a quick, easy breakfast or a takeaway coffee. As it’s not super close to home for me I probably won’t be back — there was nothing that made me say«this is awesome, I MUST come back!»

Java Lounge is my local and I love it! My most recent meal there was with 5 other people for Sunday breakfast last week. They have a nice booking system — either by phone or walk up– on weekends — something that can be quite frustrating… And they also have waiting seats where you can grab a coffee whilst you wait for a table. But it’s the food and service that keep me going back. Try their avocado smash or their brekkie burger both of which are superb. Coffee is terrific and the service always friendly and quick. Enjoy this little Paddington gem.

Great service and friendly staff. While the coffee is not considered amazing, the environment definitely meets that expectation. If you’re a Paddington local, I highly recommend making it your coffee nesting ground — It will be worth your while!

I find the food to be dry and kinda average, I expected more(quality) for how much I paid. However the coffee and juices are great.

Java Lounge is an unassuming little spot, but don’t let that deter you. The breakfasts I’ve had at Java Lounge have been fantastic, service is good, and the outdoor tables are a great place to watch Paddington buzz by on a Sunday. The inside of the café is funkily decorated and a nice place to kick back with one of the excellent coffees or juices on offer. I had a breakfast burger on my last visit, and loved it. The best things about Java Lounge are that it’s usually not quite as busy as some of Paddington’s other trendy cafes and breakfast is served all day.

You might know this place as the one with the neon lettering on a replica of an old film camera. The signage references the fact that the building(including next door’s Antiques Centre) used to be a cinema. In fact the previous owner of the Java Lounge showed old films on a projector, which patrons could enjoy with a sit-down dinner. They don’t do that anymore but the food is still really good, particularly the breakfasts. I dropped in recently and was tempted by one of their blackboard specials — Spanish eggs with chorizo, potato and sourdough ‘soldiers’(which were actually more like ‘pieces of toast’ but hey, no complaints). It came out quickly and was piping hot, which a fresh garnish of spring onion. Very tasty. My mate had the corn fritters with bacon, which he reported were nice and fluffy, with crispy bacon. There could have been a little more tomato relish, but all in all, he was more than satisfied.

If I am going to meet up with a friend for breakfast or lunch in Paddington, I will usually suggest we meet up at ‘Java Lounge’. The bright interior decorations, food, location and service are all 5-star worthy here. I generally like to come here for a late breakfast/brunch or after a shopping session at the Antique centre. Even when they are very busy, the service is generally quite speedy. I will usually order a milkshake here because I just love they way they make them here! I don’t know what it is they put in them(maybe it is the ice cream) that makes them so Tasty but I can’t get enough of them. There will usually be a «Breakfast Special» available which will set you back roughly $ 10, not bad value if you ask me. The breakfast meals are really well cooked and are pretty generous serves. Overall, I have been very pleased with my experience at Java lounge. It always offer good breakfast food, milkshakes, service and has a great vibe to it.

This is definitely a cool little joint which I have been to a number of times purely because its in a handy locale but the food has never really blown me out of the water, especially for the prices. The coffee is good, very good — as it should be in a place called ‘Java’ lounge but that alone isn’t enough to make it a favourite, especially on a strip where there are a number of more appealing alternatives that offer the whole package. In addition to the winning coffee the place deserves recognition for its great fresh juice options which they are more than happy to adapt to suit your selective tastes. I think offering fresh squeezed juice should be mandatory these days, where the evil words ‘preservative’ and added ‘sugar’ should be left to one’s pantry and not in restaurants which charge top dollar for something you could of easily purchased at the corner store. So if you are after a comfortable, relaxed café that serves up some superb beverages sink yourself into the Java lounge and just chill.

Java is a funky little café perched in a prime location to greet weary shoppers when they need a good feed and a strong, smooth cup of coffee. At least, that’s how I found them. Breakfast is offered all day with a great range of cooked brekkie through to muesli, and their sandwiches are exceptional. A regular sandwich costs around $ 13 but they are ample and they are filling. The chicken in particular was very tender and very satisfying! Oh, and did I mention the coffee? I ordered a flat white which, some places I find like to water down a bit. Not only was my flat white strong and smooth, but it also smelt amazing and was just what I needed after some exhausting shopping. I went with two friends and we found it to be charming and a very relaxed atmosphere. The walls feature posters for gigs and events around Brisbane and add a bit of an indie vibe to the place. They’re fairly busy but the staff were friendly and helpful. They also have high chairs for little kiddies if you want to bring them along.
