Zarraffas is one of the very few franchise coffee shops I frequent and for one big reason, their coffee is standardised! Doesn’t matter which one I go to I know I am going to get the same coffee every time. They keep their machines clean(ergo no bitterness) staff are friendly and they don’t over extract the beans which is important for someone who doesn’t add any flavours or sweeteners. This zarraffas is the one I frequent the most and it has a great atmosphere! I normally take away but it is often filled with the sound of chatter and laughter which is lovely. The outside seating is very popular too though the only real view is of a car park! They have a great drink menu, I love the iced americano(which is espresso over filtered water with ice; no awful over extraction) it’s so smooth to drink, great for summer and the café breve which is a really decadent cappuccino with cream, so naughty but so yummy! Such a guilty pleasure. Love it!

This is what I’d describe as fast food coffee — there’s a formula in both the food and the coffee. For god’s sake who has whipped cream in their Mocha? And, they’re expensive! In a bind in the suburbs what do you do, it’s a choice of Coffee Club, Gloria Jeans or… Zaraffas, we coffee snobs just have to ‘suck it up’ princess
