Morning coffee run — 2 large coffees cost me $ 10.80. Unreal.
As a strong coffee enthusiast, I like to travel and try as many different beans as I can. And Maven this morning tastes simply like warm milk. Maybe I’m used to strong coffees, but ordering a large, I did expect 2⁄3 shots.
Not memorable, far too expensive, lovely customer service though!

Maven comes from the Hebrew word, meaning «one that knows», in this case it’s damn fine coffee.
The baristas’ work with quality products such as Seven Seeds coffee — micro roasters from Melbourne and WA Bannister Downs milk to ensure a good cup of joe for all.
Located in the middle of Raine Square, Maven isn’t huge, but it has a presence. It is clear that the main focus is coffee with two big machines ans also cold drip facilities. It is clear that Maven is a hit with caffeine locals as there is always a line. They also offer cupcakes (big and small) and a small selection of other pastries.
Price is a bit hard to swallow in the morning ($ 4+), but when you think of the quality– it’s like sipping gold!

My regular coffee joint. A little pricey for some but hey we live in Perth. The best and most consistent coffee. I’m happy to pay a little extra for a coffee that is consistently great. If you love a good mocha or hot chocolate, you’re in for a treat, they use a lovely coverture chocolate. It’s delicious. For those who are lactose intolerant or love soy milk, they use top shelf bonsoy. It’s like you are drinking proper milk, can’t even taste the soy. I know myself as a soy drinker that having soy milk in your hot drink can make it break it. They also have cold drip available and the tastiest croissants. Great coffee, Great service. Check it out!

I think I’ll give this place a miss for a while. They’ve never done coffee well but it’s been sort of acceptable. There are now new owners that really don’t know how to make coffee. I ask for a triple shot but it always tastes like 1 ½ shots plus can be a bit burnt. No intensity of flavour. Sneaky Monkey around the corner or Uncle Joe’s are good options
