British pub… Beers and grub… These are the images swirling around my mind when we sauntered into ‘The Moon And Sixpence’. After ordering a pint of Little Creatures Pale Ale and a Gin and Tonic we settled down outside in the sunshine and breeze watching the world going by. Halfway through the drinks our stomachs began rumbling and food became our next mission. Fish and chips for her, pork sausages on a bed of mash and gravy for me, steak sandwich for child number 6 and chips and garlic bread to share.(Carbohydrate nightmare!) Sadly the food was just fair. Nothing stood out in taste or presentation… And for $ 85 I expected more… Even from a pub! This place will always survive because of its prime location and theme, coupled with its history. It’s a shame because they have so much going for it… With a little more effort in the food department it would be a GREAT pub. C+. WILLTRYAGAINANOTHERDAY.

Food is good, chips are stellar. Beer selection is limited, although slightly above average in British beers as it is a British styled bar. It’s great for a post-workday pint; which is what I’m enjoying now.

I genuinely LOVE this pub– such a good meeting place for mates and chilled atmosphere. BUT– may I say that the soft drinks(post mix) are such a rip off! My pregnant friend paid $ 8.00 for a pint of coke. For $ 9.00 she could have got herself a pint of beer. What kind of messed up logic is that?! I am told soda water is similar pricing. Pull your socks up guys!!!

The Moon and Sixpence is styled as an old English pub with cobblestone floors and wenches behind the bar. It’s conveniently close to work and full of all my work people. On the flip side it’s pricy. On the positive side it’s got great food and a roaring atmosphere. It’s plain good fun.

Good beer. Good food. Good atmosphere. What’s not to like? If I’m ever back in Australia I’d stop by again.

Nice looking garden with a good selection of beer — the inside is that dull generic ‘English’ pub abroad look. However they really need to train their staff I knowing when a beer is off. I know and I shouldn’t be told«that’s how it tastes».

Uk beer, not a very tidy venue, and lots of bogans… but what do you expect from this type of venue.

I’m not a fan. Every time I’ve wound up at this place, it’s been at the end of a long night and I’ve wished I’d gone home instead. I think the Moon & Sixpence is best for a pint of beer under the trees outside in the afternoon. Inside the pub late at night on a weekend is definitely not my scene. Lastly, the wine list makes me cringe.

You know what this pub is alright! It’s basically a English themed house in the middle of the city. They have plenty of seating in and out, which for me is important(I’m not standing at a pub)! They have a large beer garden which is perfect for sunny Saturday or SUNday afternoon. There is also areas which can be booked out for functions. Usually there is some sort of cover /live band on a Friday and Saturday night. And most importantly they have beer of the month specials! They have heaps of beers on tap and in bottles. The service is generally friendly and fast-ish. Just your average pub though really.

I point blank refuse to go to this place because of my experience the very first time I went here. I was a Friday afternoon and I had arranged to meet my partner here after work. Being a tradesman I was dressed in my normal work gear(boots, shorts, hi viz top) but being winter had my hoody on. Claiming that it is a «traditional British pub» and myself being British I did not see any reason why they would not let tradies in on a Friday afternoon. I walked in, went straight to the bar and ordered a beer, the guy behind the bar was polite and served me promptly, I paid and turned around to go and sit down and I was met by the guy who appeared to be the manager who looked me up and down like I was a piece of s##t and said«OHNO!!! You can’t come in here dressed like that!!!» I responded by saying«sorry mate I didn’t see any signs» to which he responded«you’ll have to leave, drink your drink and leave» I was left speechless and embarrassed in front of the whole bar area, I drank my drink as slow as I could and have never returned back to that place and have no plans to, I understand that they may want to keep the place upmarket being I the area that it is but there is no need to ‘ever’ speak to anyone in that sort of manner. That is why I am reluctant to give this place even 1 star… Update!!! Feb 2015… After vowing to never go here again, I reluctantly went here on the international arts festival Saturday(giants) we where with children and the children where hungry and we fancied a beer and it was the closest place to us. We had a food which we waited an hour for which is fair enough as they where busy but the food was warm at best and my burger was raw inside… Definitely will not be going here again!!!

Indeed it is a bit of a dive but the spirit of the place is positive and the beer selection pretty damn excellent.

Met some colleagues for some after work drinks. Good atmosphere. Seems to be a popular spot. Great location. I was just there for drinks but the service was fast. It was supposed to be an English style pub but really just your standard Australian pub décor. Prices were as expected in Perth. Bottom line: another bar with no bar seating but that’s my problem and not yours, but i would come back simply because it’s on the way. Stay sexy my friends!

Enjoyed a really good meal and pint on a Monday night after work. The Beef cheek on mash was a great«pub» style meal. The outside bear garden is great to watch Perth move on by. Apparently its the only one at street level in the CBD. The service was good too!

I really like the moon of sixpence a tradition English style pub, with live music some nights, cheap pints and a general good vibe. I haven’t ever had a bad experience with this place. Yes on certain night the crowd can be a little rowdy but I think it is all part of the fun, maybe thats just me though. The food is also a big yes, sometimes a little on the costly side, but very on the tasty side.

You could do worse and you could do better for you Friday night out. It is a very popular spot, attracting Friday sundowner drinkers and Sudnay afternoon sports watchers. It has a very inviting outdoor area for cold drinks and pizzas. One of the best things going for this establishment is that it isn’t in Northbridge because although it still attracts an international crowd, its is attracting the less rwody long termers rather than the backpackers(no offence intended). They have some good entertainment fixtures too offering quiz nights and music on weekdays.

The Moon and Sixpence is a traditional British Pub located on the main pub strip in Perth city. It is decked out with timber beams, old brick walls and warm lighting and has a very cosy homey feel to it. Walking past it during the day it always seems to be drawing a crowd, whether it’s for a catching up over lunch or after work drinks. Although the Moon and Sixpence is a fun stop off for me and my friends before we head out, the meals are relatively well prices and the boys love their cheap pints while us girls generally go for vodka red bull. It has a very fun relaxed ambience and is a great place to meet as it’s located right in the heart of the city. Will certainly be back for more!

The Moon and Sixpence is a centrally-located pub almost in the centre of Perth. It is ostensibly a British pub, although there are Irish influences — there are times when an Irish band will grace the pub to play popular cover tunes. The Moon and Sixpence is a nicely-sized establishment, with both indoor and outdoor areas. The indoor areas are comfortable if somewhat dimly lit, while the outdoor areas offer nice shade under the extended roof and is good for engaging in some people watching over a beer and food. The beer selection is quite strong at the Moon and Sixpence, with beers such as Abbot Ale, Old Speckled Hen, and Hobgoblin Ale featuring alongside more standard fare such as Kilkenny and Guinness. The beers first mentioned are hard-pressed to be found anywhere else in Perth, so if you are dropping by the Moon and Sixpence and in an adventurous spirit, those beers are worth sampling. Their food is standard pub grub, with burgers and chips dominating the menu. The prices are fair, the portions are generous and the food is generally top quality. There is no waiter service, so if you are interested in ordering food, you will have to order at the counter. The Moon and Sixpence is worth a visit if you are looking for an afternoon drink in the Perth CBD, or if you are looking for decently-priced, hearty pub grub.

Not a bad place to come for a few drinks after work — as the sun sets it shines into the front beer garden over the CBD buildings. There’s a nice relaxed atmosphere here in the evenings, and there’s usually some good entertainment and specials on on different nights — $ 20 pizza and pint on Mondays, a decent cover band on a Saturday, free pub quiz on Wednesdays and a funk musician in the garden on Sundays. Bar staff are really friendly too. If you’re looking for somewhere chill to meet friends after work then this is a great spot.
