Decent food, decent location. There was no real complaints about any of the food. I had the fish which was nice and came with a decent cold potato salad. None of it was amazing but good enough for a quick reasonably priced meal. I would eat there again. What really let’s this prime located venue down is the mess hall style, décor and tables, they look and feel ancient, the dining tables are very close to each other, and the area is a bit loud. Not totally terrible but could be way better.

Went here on a Friday evening for dinner at 830. The restaurant was quite and people were mainly out on the street seating drinking. This place has table service which is quite refreshing with polite, professional waiters. Our food took a little long, but we didn’t mind too much as the kitchen was probably on minimal staff at this hour. The music was pretty loud as obnoxious, I felt like I was eating in a nightclub, very bizarre. Priced ok.

They do $ 15 lunch deals on weekdays that are quite reasonable. My mate loves coming here every time we catch up. For $ 15 you get a lunch main and a drink. Mains may include pizza, fish and chips, steak sandwich, salad etc. Yesterday my mate had a steak sandwich that he seemed to enjoy(he didn’t say anything bad about it!). I had a Moroccan chicken and feta salad. It was rather reasonable! Staff are friendly and the supervisor checked on us for our orders as that might have been a mixed up in orders for two tables. All good as it was sorted out after a delay in getting the food to us. Not somewhere I’d go on a regular basis but ok for an occasional lunch.

Went for a work lunch. Shared platters to start which were interesting. Great crumbed mushroom and dips, stingy chorizo(paper think slices), and terrible olives(tasted tinned). I ordered the fish of the day, grouper. When it arrived it was over cooked and over salted, almost to the point of being inedible(I scraped the sauce off the fish and pushed on). For dessert I ordered a sticky date pudding which was lovely and much needed to try and wash the salt out of my mouth. Service was great but I think next time my work chooses this place for a boozy lunch I’ll stick to the pub fare. Chips, chicken parma and the steaks looked good. Leave the fancy fish and sauce to the experts.

I really enjoyed My Place. I went on a Friday night around 22:00 and while there was a great atmosphere, it wasn’t overly busy and we were still able to find somewhere to sit. Friday night is karaōke night, so be prepared for some pretty interesting renditions of old classics — they seem to have a pretty fast and loose approach to RSA — and I witnessed a few microphone drops. The staff are pretty friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there, and the bar is stocked from counter to ceiling with a wide array of alcohol bottles! The cocktails are cheap, and fun. There’s a range for $ 7 but most are $ 11 which is still really great value. I also love how you can get teapots of cocktails to share — I think it’s a great serving idea! They do close at midnight, but if you’re looking for a big/late night, it’s in good walking distance to a lot of other late night haunts. If what you are looking for is fun karaōke tunes, cheap cocktails and a fun night out with a group — My Place is a great place.

Go here a lot with work crew. There is always a good crowd here at lunchtimes. The specials being a main & drink for $ 15 are Mon– Thurs. There is usually good specials mains on the menu & you can always get them to make one veggie friendly. If there is none on the menu they will always accommodate you which is why I like this place. Staff are nice & drink list is quite big too.

Sure it isn’t fancy but I actually really like this place. A good range of specials and happy hours and not too busy either. Easy to get to and the place isn’t full of pretension or grubby looking people. I popped in here Friday after work after eating a great pulled pork roll. Not too busy, enough people not to feel awkward and easy to walk from in the city. Perfect place if you just want to catch up with someone and not be bombarded by the Friday night crowds of Perth. Although I wouldn’t be taking tourists here to impress them as this place is not fancy.

It’s not really ‘my kind of place’ but I have to admit, I went with the work crew one evening and everybody was stoked with their food. It’s just super normal food, home cooked styles. Pretty reasonably priced. The people doing the quiz looked to be having a blast.

OK, here’s the thing. Karaōke, very cheap pre-mixed cocktails of questionable content and the ability to get as messy as you like without fear of being cut off at the bar will either sound heavenly or heinous. My Place can provide all of that and more.

Took a visiting friend on a tour of Perth and used Unilocal to steer us towards the funkier bars and eateries. unfortunately hit a bit of a speed hump at this bar … We were just in time to get the cheapo cocktails. Friend orders a Margarita… and they pull out the blender — chuck in some ice and flavouring and a bit of alcohol — «SCOOP» it out and shlop it in a plastic cocktail glass… C’mon … ??? Fair enough it was $ 5 but it was in-EDIBLE… and yes I mean inedible as opposed to un-drinkable because it was a tasteless frozen slushy… not even a sprinkle of salt to be found within cooee … (Suggestion: add the word«FROZEN» to the drinks that aren’t going to be shaken or stirred the old fashioned way… then we can at least make a choice) To the management”s credit they refunded the $ 5 and we continued our search —(we did finally find the BEST Margarita in WA .but it was a few days away in the Must Bar at Margaret River … a whole other story…)

There is no place like My Place, sorry had to do it! This has to be one of my favourite restaurants/bars in Perth. It is pretty low key and always a good laugh. I love the 90’s tunes that fill the room, it creates such a good vibe, everyone is chuckling and remembering a care free time! I greatly enjoy the $ 7 cocktails! What place has $ 7 cocktails, even in Happy Hour, it never happens! They have student discounts and all the meals are under $ 20! This place is honestly a students dream!

Dinner for 5 for $ 120. Not just mains but cocktails, mains and delicious tapas! The tapas included scallops, prawns, olives, tapenade, grilled strips of turkish bread and a homemade tasting capsicum dip. Full before the mains even got out! For mains we had salmon fillet with mash potato, reef & beef, grande nachos and hawaiian pizza. Nobody was disappointed in their food and the reef and beef was huge with chips on the side and cooked exactly as they’d asked. The waitress was attentive, made sure we always had water and drink top ups and the TV was playing 80’s and 90’s music videos which kept the laughs coming! I’m impressed. And that is without it being a $ 7 cocktail night or a lunchtime special. Whoa.

I had my birthday at My Place last year because of how much shit they throw at you for little to no cost. You’ve got a booking of 10 people? Sweet, have a $ 50 bar card! You’ll be here on a Saturday night? Fantastic! There’s a massive selection of $ 7 cocktails. You’re hungry? Great, because we’ve got some really fab food for some really decent prices. So, basically we went to My Place, got hammered and went to Amps. Beautiful chaos ensues.
