NIB Stadium

Such a great venue to watch a Perth Glory game. There isn’t a better feeling in soccer than walking through the city streets with an army of fans decked out in their jerseys. They are all swarming upon the stadium that feels like part of the neighborhood. NIB Stadium is one of those hometown arenas with a smaller feel.
There really wasn’t a bad seat in this venue. I felt like I was part of the action for the entire game and there were plenty of fans that seemed engaged for all 90 minutes. The seats were fairly cheap for football, which is always a good thing. The food was extremely cheap as well. I went with the bacon and cheese pie. It was fairly bland, but what stadium food isn’t.
There were plenty of thrills and exciting moments during my time at NIB Stadium. I would highly recommend checking out this venue for a great soccer experience.

NIB Stadium was the perfect host this week for the Foo Fighters concert that I went to. I used to be a regular at the stadium years ago when enjoying the Perth Glory home games, and didn’t realise until the other night that the stadium section in Lord Street, between Gate 3 and Gate 4 had even been completed and was looking so spectacular! I since discovered this week that the completion was back in 2013, which means my visit to the stadium was way overdue.
We were seated in section E126, which was located in the front block of this newer stand of the NIB stadium and I was impressed how comfortable my seat actually was, it’s great the seats are not on a flat but actually incline each step up as we didn’t have any obstruction at all from the people seated in front of us.
The food and bar areas along with the toilet facilities were all easy to locate and access. Gate 4 where we entered had wide entry access and plenty of staff, which allowed us to get into and out of the stadium very easily.
I’ve always noticed at the Glory games how many security staff are always visible at this venue and it was no different at the Foo Fighters concert the other night, which as a patron is really reassuring should any trouble arise.
The sound quality we found very good! Overall I found it a very good experience attending this venue.

Went to this stadium for a Perth Glory night game and had a blast. The crowd was going crazy and our team won the game. Happy days.
As for the stadium itself the entry is quite painless as the lines are never that long, even when you line up again for the shed (which if you want the full glory experience is a must). Lines for the beverages are always painful though and like most stadiums only accept cash. When the ATMs are so few and far between (causing another painful line).
Well you get the picture.
I was standing in the shed so I can’t comment on the seats in the grandstand, however it does look impressive from far, unfortunately it is rarely filled. If you were going to go to any stadium to watch Perth Glory smash the opposition, this will do, just visit an ATM first.

Well for my first concert experience at a stadium I was a bit of a sceptic to think Taylor Swift could utilise the space.
The venue itself for a music concert was really really impressive! Acoustics sounded amazing! And the atmosphere and roof open added such a great feel to the crowd.
Seated chairs on the ground was not ideal but I still saw most the show. Felt sorry for the smaller kids that weren’t tall enough to see over everyone!
Events staff were really well organised and knew the venue well to give appropriate advice.
Only reason I don’t give it all stars is because part credit is due to the producers of the tour to really take advantage of the stadium setting.
But if there’s another concert here I think I would definitely make the trip and trust it’s a decent venue to view my fave performers! :)

The new stand is great, and it looks like Perth finally has a specialised purposely built rectangular stadium for sports such as soccer, and rugby.
However– public transport, parking, and the area outside needs a look at, as its all one big ugly clutter, especially around the stirling street side outside the stadium going towards McIver station.
There is not a lot of liveliness out on the streets for the sports events that occur walking to and out of the venue

For an outdoor concert venue, NIB Stadium is fine — the acoustics are quite clear and tight, without the boom characteristic of some open spaces, and even at the very back of the stadium, there are good views of the stage. I’ve seen two artists play at NIB — The Police and Leonard Cohen — and both times, the acoustics were excellent, with a great balance between the instruments.
NIB Stadium is a rectangular-​shaped space, normally used to host soccer matches. The grandstand is towards the left, and the main stands are on the right and the back. The grassed area that is otherwise used as the soccer pitch are usually reserved for those with the most expensive tickets, as they are the closest to the action.
The only issue with the NIB Stadium is the lack of shade in most areas. So, for those who arrive early, it can get quite warm sitting in the blazing sun.
NIB Stadium is a good place for outdoor music concerts, with great acoustics.

I work at NIB stadium almost every weekend and I regularly here complaints, the seating for the Glory games (as they are generally in the afternoon) always face the sun and parking is a nightmare. If your willing to join the crowd, public transport is reasonable to the venue with the train station just down the road, however this makes gate 4 very over crowded for the size gates and the number of window boxes that are open.
The building itself is very old and working there on that terribly thundery night was absolute chaos. It could not cope with the excessive amounts of water and this was extremely dangerous as a few of our computer systems shut down due to water damage. There is also no ventilation in the stuffy old rooms and during the peak heat of summer it is certainly a struggle.
Overall the sound is fairly reasonable, yet for surrounding residents it would definitely be a pain in the ass.

I went to nib Stadium for the first time this week to see the Foo Fighters play. While the Foo Fighters did their best to entertain the crowd, with Dave Grohl being on particular good form, I have to say that the stadium itself was a bit of a let down.
Grohl even made reference to the fact that the seats at the back of the arena leave a lot to be desired, dedicating one song to «the poor motherfuckers in the shitty seats at the back. I can see some of you are holding up signs but you’re so far away I can’t even see the fucking things.»
The sound quality isn’t bad, but the layout of the venue is terrible, and the AV technicians manning the large screens at either side of the stage are pretty damn terrible at their jobs. It is completely impossible to see what’s going on on stage unless your are in probably the front 10 rows, so most of the thousands of people who spent money to see a band in the stadium are relying on the big screens to show them where the action is. However, most of the time all that can be seen on the screens is pieces of the band members — their hair, their ears, their feet as they run across the stage.
I would say unless you’re a die hard fan who’s going to queue all day to get into the pit then don’t go to see a concert here, it will probably only serve to put you off whatever artist you go to see through sheer frustration at having spent a rake of money to see a shaky image of their eyebrow on a big screen that’s not even that big.
