Lovely menu exciting selection. I chose the special fish dish snapper in a creamy sauce with prawns sweet potato and beans. Delish. Others had beef cheeks, steak, barramundi and fish and chips. All declared they thoroughly enjoyed the mains. Dessert was a lime tart and ice cream. Others had the Crème Brulee. Coffee was well made so over all a wonderful experience

I had a $ 65 Xmas four course set dinner here for a work function. Booking the event was pain free with a fantastic lady who worked at Oliver’s who arranged everything for the night suited our needs. While it was a bit pricey we were able to secure The Loft for our party of 30 people and have a bit of privacy and a balcony. Everyone was happy with their selections and the service was attentive throughout the night. Heavily recommended if you want a place to book a function.

The service was amazing, the food was amazing, we were a large group of ten and we all had a great night. Would recommend to friends and go there again!

The gnocchi was honestly one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life. I might move to Perth to be closer to it.

Thoroughly recommended. Food, Sangria and service! Will be doing several return visits as too hard to pick a main and so far no one has had anything to complain about! Yum

Came back after a long hiatus, but a lot has changed. The service is still great, the atmosphere is still lovely, but I sure do miss the old menu. Oliver’s had the best mussels in town. Their garlic and chili mussels were heaven on earth and they have permanently removed them. I think that was a huge mistake. They also had a carbonara to die for. That is also gone. Please bring back the old menu, Oliver’s! It was one of the best in Perth.

Average Italian food, though the atmosphere inside is nice and cozy. Great location in Northbridge and there’s a wait on the weekends so call ahead to reserve. If sitting on the sidewalk sit on the side instead of the footpath traffic. Or better yet, sit in the restaurant next to the window — even better! I had the garlic bread, which was great. Risotto wasn’t good and pizza was average — nothing to rave about.

Please visit my blog for the full review The food at Oliver’s tonight was not as good as I remembered it to be. The tasting plate had everything I usually love about tasting plates: bread and dips, chorizo, feta and olives but it also had arancini balls, tempura prawns, calamari and gazpacho. I started off with the gazpacho which was way too acidic for myliking and hoped this wasn’t a sign of the standard for tonight(unfortunately, it was somewhat a sign). The presentation of the arancini balls was a bit substandard as they were different sizes, quite small and not even round but luckily they tasted great. The dips were not bad, there was a red onion, tzatziki and mushroom dip with our favourite being the red onion dip. The rest of the tasting plate was not bad but became a bit too salty after a while and I was very disappointed with the lack of feta(there were only a few tiny pieces). Hubby ordered the fillet steak which was cooked a perfect medium rare and well seasoned. The vegetables complemented the steak and were nicely done and the dish was well presented. My only complaint was that the potato crispy bits on the top were not very crispy. My pizza however was a bit disappointing, I was expecting a nice wood fired pizza but I got a mediocre pizza with way too much topping and a base so thin that it soaked up a lot of moisture from the toppings and became a little soggy. The Mediterranean vegetables were also a bit disappointing, one would expect the vegetables to be at least slightly roasted being woodfired and all but it didn’t even look or taste a little bit roasted. I preferred the Diavola to the Oliver’s and as I couldn’t finish the pizza(I could only manage 2 slices), we took the rest home and it was actually better overnight and reheated. Service — 3⁄5 The service was mediocre, we were told that we have to leave at 7:30pm but at 7:15pm our mains had still not arrived so I said to the waitress there is no way that we will be able to be out by 7:30pm and was happy to move to a different table, in which she said ‘oh you don’t need to move anymore.’ Well, I don’t know if I’m being picky but I don’t really like being anxious and watching the clock when I go out, most of the time if I am told I need to leave by a certain time, I get served quickly and don’t have to ask for things, so I really would’ve appreciated it if the waitress came back and told me that we were able to stay as long as we liked. My other complaints were that the staff were not exactly friendly or attentive and it would be appreciated if they actually tell you what dips were on the tasting plate and what the chef’s tapas of the day was instead of having to wave them over again so I could ask. Atmosphere and décor — 4⁄5 Oliver’s on James Street has a nice relaxed atmosphere, is great for people watching(we saw some girls in very little material walking around…) and as the night progressed a lovely buzz developed. I liked the simple décor and the wood fire pizza oven on display, nothing fancy but the décor fits the type of restaurant that it is. If you get a choice, ask for a window seat. Value for money — 3.5÷5 Not taking into account the Entertainment Book discounts, the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of food, service, atmosphere and location. After the Entertainment Book discount, I would give it a 4⁄5. Taste Test Total Score 13.5÷20

Smack bang in the middle of Northbridge. On a Saturday night the James Street strip is busy with revelers and Oliver’s location puts you in amongst the action. Restaurant was busy with in and outside seating. We had arancini balls, rib eye, pasta and dukah lamb. food was good, waitsatff were attentive and despite the busy night, food was forthcoming without significant delay. Would I go again? Sure.

Oliver’s is a great place for a romantic date. The food is of a high standard, the service is good and location and restaurant styling is great. It’s not overpriced either. ;) My wife and I especially like to go later in the evenings and get the dessert tasting plate.

Great fusion of casual and fine dining. Famous for their wood oven pizzas and tapas platter, Oliver’s serves up a good menu for those looking for a quick meal or for a quiet intimate dinner. Situated next to the Paradiso cinema, movie patrons can enjoy a 10% discount off their meals here. Great food, atmosphere and good cocktails!

Olivers on James St is a tasty treat. It’s in a great location for sitting outside on a warm evening and watching Northbridge go by, while enjoying some of the best food the street has to offer. For a light meal I would recommend sharing the Tapas plate, which has all the good stuff — olives, chorizo, feta, calamari, prawns, breads, dips and some other treats in between. It’s reasonable too at roughly $ 17 per person. Or if you’re in it for the real thing and want a full on meal I’d recommend the Pâté to start and the crab linguine or if you’re for a vegetarian option the crespella is amazing(spinach, squash and ricotta crêpe). My boyfriend is a big fan of the pizzas in here, and on Wednesdays they’re all $ 15 which is fantastic.
