Today is my 11th year anniversary with my girlfriend. I purchased a Clipp for the night and proceeded to call the resturant to book. I was told there was a mistake on their side and no reservations or Clipps were to be taken tonight as its a long weekend. After awhile i recieved a call back apologising for the error and was told a table for two would be set aside regardless and they would upholding the forementioned discount through Clipp. Fantastic! We drove uo from Mandurah into the city and 10 minutes before arriving our Clipp was closed on their side. When we sat down the server told me it has nothing to do with them and that they would not be upholding the discount for the evening as previously agreed upon even we had traveled all that way. He even had the audacity to urge me and book yet another Clipp while i could for a smaller discount on larger minimum spend. Terrible way to start our night so needless we left to eat somewhere we would be welcomed. Will not be returning back to this place thats for sure.

Nice place for after work drinks and dinner. Staff was really helpful in getting me a table. Very popular bar apparently as there were 3 functions on. If you are looking for a romantic night you probably want to check that first. Many options fir seating. Good menu and a huge selection of wines. My friend is vegan and was able to enjoy multiple dishes from the menu. They even made her a special dessert. Besides from being a bit rushed with the mains while we were still nibbling on out entrees, all was great! We had a fabulous night out!!!

We had a lunch date on Tuesday at The Stables and it was quite enjoyable. It was a quiet day with us being the first table and two more followed after that. We ordered quite quickly but we did have to wait a while for our food. It was worth the wait though. My barramundi was delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband had the beef short ribs and they were fall-off-the bone delicious! I didn’t have an alcoholic beverage this time around. But they have an excellent wine and cocktail selection and the desserts looked good too.

Just be clear this is a bar with food, albeit a cut above most bar food. Not an easy place to eat and relax because it’s just not set up that way. But the food is better than average and as long as you keep your expectations to drinking with food, as opposed to eating with a couple of drinks, you won’t be disappointed.

Went here last night for a work function. Great atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly. Loved the menu options I had arancini with a jalepenos salsa so delicious and some kind of jalepenos creamy filled popper yum yum yum. My main was a rib eye steak with mushrooms chunky chips and rocket salad with coleslaw the steak was so tender and if I had to pick a fault I got medium rare instead of medium well. Drinks flowing all night long with all the happy Christmas cheer. Didn’t get to the dessert we just drank and socialised instead. The staff were very polite and patient when we had overstayed our time slot and moved us outside to another table. I will definitely recommend this place and will go back again.

We only stopped in for some grazing and a beer(after an aborted dinner attempt at Jamie’s down the road), so I don’t have too much to go off for this review. But… I liked the design and décor(exposed brick, modern, dim lighting, space), and the warmth of the place on a cold winter evening. It wasn’t totally full but we sat at the bar, which is a good spot to ogle the whiskey and bourbon collection. Service was outstanding with a little chat here and there, and a free taster of one of their new beers. The food was great. The soft-shell crab turned out a full crab, and not just the ‘leg parts’ that you usually see. Thus, more delicious white meat! The BBQ chicken wings were as you expect in some ways, but a generous portion with 6 full wings(i.e., 3 bones each, in case you care for that kind of detail!). We didn’t venture into the fine dining area upstairs, but wouldn’t mind to visit in the future. Mains on the menu looked great and were priced between $ 25 – 35. The grazers that we had were $ 15 – 17.

I’ve been to the stables bar a couple of times and tried their unshaken tasteless cocktail specials such as the vodka with cranberry juice(not a cocktail just a mixer with spirit) and left in disappointment. I have waited in line on a Friday night to get in and order a drink at the crowded bar. But this time I was here for a team lunch on a Thursday sunny afternoon. We were seated upstairs on a long table. My colleagues and I ordered the lamb shank,.pork belly, seafood paella, chickpea salad and nettle gnocchi. Each dish being around 28 dollars. What arrived for me was the biggest lamb shank I had ever seen on a tiny tiny dollop of yoghurt, harissa and what looked like brown rice but was actually toasted rye. It was no ordinary lamb shank as it was not coated in a tomato base. It was very plain but being hungry I devoured it whole and crunched the toasted rye. My colleagues loved their meals with the seafood paella definitely being their favourite. Almost as good as the one my colleague had tastes in Barcelona. His words. Having filled our bellies and having had run out of time we were unable to order dessert but the selection looked tempting. They had Apple cider doughnuts with brown butter Ice cream and buttermilk ice cream. Definitely going back to stables for a meal. :)

Worst service in Perth combined with wicked food poisoning will never see me never step foot inside this place again. Arrived for a Monday night dinner with no tables available. That’s cool no prob. We waited at the bar and were served by the most unfriendly bar staff ever. I really felt I ruin their evening by ordering a beer. $ 10 middy of beer is deplorable and profiteering. $ 10 pints are the norm I get that but $ 10 for slightly bigger than a muddy for Heineken? Come on. Once we were seated we waited with our menus for 35min before having the courage to ask if we could place our order. I had ribs that were great. Others had steaks which were good but small. So, ribs were good until I woke at midnight firing both barrels out of each end. So, it seems because it was Monday they were understaffed but still charged ridiculous prices while having questionable hygiene in the kitchen.

This place has become my new favorite bar! Stables bar doesn’t seem like much from the outside but as you walk in through a pebble stoned ally-way you’ll be surprised as to how big it actually is! Inside consist of long bar with tables and bar stools scattered around the place and there is plenty of seating outside in the courtyard. On a Saturday night the place gets pretty packed with the age group being majority 20+. Now I’ve only been here once but the DJ on this particular was awesome playing old school beats from the 90’s including r&b/hip hop… my fav :) They have a full bar from wines, spirits, beer on tap and a delicious cocktails. Prices are pretty average with a glass of wine or a pint of beer being roughly $ 8, and cocktails being about $ 14, This is such a great place if your up for hitting the town on a Saturday night! My friends and I were bar hopping this particular night and coming to The Stables Bar was the perfect way to start off the night… in fact I could of quite happily stayed! Definitely will be coming back here to check out the restaurant and try a few more cocktails

Gets really crowded on a Saturday night. Not the best place to hang and catch up as you would barely able to hear the person next to you yelling at your face On the other hand it’s a perfect venue if you would book it out and have a bday party or any Xmas party. Good friendly and quick service gives the place the extra point. With the noisy ambiance I guys that’s what you get when you have a very hip bar with everyone trying to have a taste of. Overall still a good classy pub to enjoy some pres or kickback a few bevvies with the boys.

I visited stables bar on a saturday evening with a close friend. We shared a couple of bottles of rose over some amazing tapas! We enjoyed the smoked salmon on crunchy thin bread, the chicken & chorizo croquettes and the cauliflower & zuchini pakoras with dukkah and tzatziki. Great atmosphere, music, service and good spot for food, drinks and a chat.

Excellent meal in every way. Delicious cocktail — gin juice, wonderfully herbal and tart. Very good sourdough bread and olives to start. Superb lamb roast cooked just the way I like it — great char on the outside and rare on the inside. Buttery eggplant and hummus rounded it out nicely. Service was far and away the best we’ve had in several weeks of dining in Perth. Attentive, professional and personable. I can’t wait to go back!

Dinner on a weeknight, a casual catch up dinner with a friend. Was a little noisy but not enough to be bothered. Bar area was pretty crowded but we were seated at a table. without needing to make a booking. The share plates are decent enough sizes that we each ordered one and shared, leaving enough room for dessert, of course. Tasty, good vibe and good service.

This was my first time trying out the place as I’d heard it’s name a lot but don’t get into the city much and I must say I was a little Disappointed. The venue is great and I love how it’s decked out with copper lights and old bookcases but the menu choices were not really enticing to me and the bar service was shocking. I did have a delicious cheese platter and the hand cut chips were yum but the vegetable sourdough was so burnt I couldn’t taste anything else. Our waiter was great and on top of service at our table and brought out a deconstructed wagon wheel with candles for free for our friends birthday which was great, but he immediately poured still or sparkling water when we sat with us having no choice for tap water so we were charged $ 63 for water on the bill! The bar staff did not speak to us at all when ordering drinks and didn’t smile once, making you feel uncomfortable every time you ordered a drink. So it was a 50⁄50 night for me all up.

You’re alright, Stables. I’m not head over heels for you but I’m also not running at high speed to avoid you either. That’s meant to be compliment so smile! Your drink list does the job and I don’t loathe your wine list(though I’d train the staff to check the wine isn’t off before serving it.) I also don’t mind sampling your tasty nibbles. They are tasty! There is plenty of space upstairs and downstairs and the crowd is a nice mix of young professionals and other age appropriate frequenters. I especially like that even when you’re balls to the wall busy, the bartenders serve you quickly. You’re never waiting long for a drink and for that, we thank you!

I really like the fact that this building has been repurposed in the middle of the city. It’s hard to believe people in Perth really rode in horse drawn carriages and stored their horses here. This place is quite hidden during the week and easy to miss but during the night it comes to life… and gets really packed with office workers. The first time I went here I had lunch with my friend. They forgot our drink orders however that was easily remedied. I had fish and chips and it was really delicious, fresh and well presented! The staff made us feel slightly rushed even though there weren’t many people and also completely forgot to bring water. The second time I went for drinks last Thursday night and had a way better experience we ordered drinks at the bar instead of the table and the place was packed and the vibe was really awesome! Overall I would go back as the food is lovely and the place is interesting and unique!

My 3 high school besties and I don’t get to catch up as much as we’d like. Life gets in the way, but on this occasion, the stars were all aligned and we were all free. Fabulous! We fancied a bit of a drink and a chat. I thought instead of screaming at each other in a noisy and darkened bar, why not make a nice weekend afternoon of it. We’d met for dinner a few months before at The Stables Bar(Perth CBD) and we all really loved it. There were a few people around, but it wasn’t heaving like it does at night. We sat casually in the shady courtyard and ordered a few cocktails. We had some scrumptious Cider Bellinis and Mai Tais. We also got some scrumptious share plates to nibble on between us; — it was all very tasty; Pork & Fennel Croquettes with caper mayo $ 14 Hand Cut Chips with chipotle mayo $ 8 Pork sliders with pickled zucchini, red cabbage & chipotle mayonnaise $ 15 Lemon battered cod tacos with wasabi mayonnaise & cabbage salad $ 15 We had such a laid back afternoon. It was a beautiful day and we all said we’d be up for another cruise-y boozy afternoon at The Stables in the not too distant future!

Ah Stables… it probably deservers 3 and a half stars, however given that on almost every visit here service in the restaurant has been poor it only gets three; which is a real shame as it has all the potentially to be more. What they get right in abundance is the bar, catering for all different sized groups, they have a great drinks lists with a couple of original takes on the classic cocktails and all in a hip and happening atmosphere. As I said at the start, where I have been disappointed is at the restaurant, the food comes at almost random intervals when things get busy, which I would let slip if the service was good… however on more than one occasion we have been left without drinks orders while they serve the bar or had our order completely lost! Perhaps I expected too much given the flare of this place, after all it set out to be a traditional bar, however when they do so much right I had hoped for a little more.

Went here for an event on a Saturday night. Big group of us eating off the set tapas menu. Seems we weren’t the only ones planning a dinner function, quite the popular place to be! Entrée was simple with prawn dip and quinoa salad also. Main was lamb shank, crusted chicken and chips and barramundi. Dessert was some servings of strawberry sorbet and chocolate mousse? Forgive me for not having the proper descriptions as I was having a marvellous time drinking the bottles of wine we ordered! Food was delicious! The mains were my highlight! Chefs definitely know what flavours worked and the lamb just melted off the bone! The chicken was so damn tasty! Staff were great in accommodating our table and also the surrounding functions also! Vibe was great! Loved it! And will definitely come back!

It’s so crazy to think that this building and large courtyard has been lying dormant for so many years. It has a pretty incredible past, and also boggles your mind to think of a large stable smack bang in the middle of the CBD way back when. You’ll enter the restaurant via a small paved alleyway. It feels a little bit ye old England until you get into the courtyard, which is filled with lots of long benches of dark wood. The venue is really large, but designed in a way that there are lots of pockets of space and different areas, giving it a more intimate feel than other venues of its size. We went for breakfast, so I haven’t experienced, the lunch, dinner or drinks menu yet. There were four of us at breakfast. The service was friendly and fast. Our table ordered the salmon and fennel jaffle, the special which was a mushroom bruschetta with poached eggs and also the beans dish. All of the breakfast dishes we had were a little bland. I’d like to go back for lunch or dinner. I can see this place being pretty packed for Friday night drinks.
