Top notch breakfast location! Big servings! Good coffee. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit if you are hungry and in the area!

The cooks seem to struggle with the difference between poached eggs and hard boiled. The orange juice was okay, but the whole experience was not worth $ 30+ for two.

«The benefit to how poorly cooked the(allegedly) poached eggs were, is that they couldn’t run away. Because they weren’t runny. They were dry.» Big Brekky is the poorly told joke of the inner-west café scene. While my dish scraped an acceptable 3⁄5 for taste, texture and presentation, my co-diners were disappointed. The meals were ill-prepared and served with a scowl. The waitress half joked about how she wasn’t a very good waitress at all. Half-joked. Dry eggs got you down? Just have a sip of your milksha– oh wait, no, the barista had lost both the milkshake and the coffee orders. Needless to say, Big Brekky’s milkshakes won’t bringing me back to their yard. Being the balanced and always fair author/eater that I am, I can’t leave this review on a bad note. The layout of Big Brekky is great. Perched on a corner just back from the buzz of Petersham(I think), the café has an expansive backyard for patrons to graze. Also I had my first ever taste of banana relish, bonus! I’ll be asking for this everywhere now. Be warned: Big Brekky isn’t for all, the service and the quality were poor but acceptably so given that it wasn’t the Ritz, I thought.

Came here because of line at Daisy’s. So glad we did. Great, strong coffee, yummy breakfast(corn fritters FTW!), lovely staff(flirty waiter gives great shoulder massages!) and no hurrying us to leave our table. They were busy though, deservedly so. Brunch for two with huge servings and three coffees was $ 40, good value in this part of town.

Great coffee — if you don’t mind feeling objectified by the staff then this is the place for you. I went in for a coffee on my way home Saturday morning and left with a sour taste in my mouth. Which is a pity because I used to love this place since they do awesome coffee. I’m just a bit wary about going back after one of the waiters made me feel like I was a prize pig on show and commented about my anatomy like he was my best mate from years back. I don’t care how gay you come across, I don’t appreciate it. No woman appreciates it. Just sayin’ Pity I didn’t come back with a crude comment about his crotch — just to try to flag how inappropriate he was being. So anyway. This is why I’ve given it the one star and why I don’t think I’ll be going back.

This has been a regular haunt of ours for about 5 years as it is within walking distance of home — perfect for hangovers on Saturday mornings… In the time, it has changed hands a bunch of times but has had consistently great food, and appallingly slow and unfriendly service. I’m please to report that since my last visit(some time ago) it has changed hands again. This time, the service is friendly and fast. Alas, the food isn’t quite as good as it once was. Still OK, but prices are high for what it is($ 18 for big brekky, $ 15 for baked eggs). Worth a visit if you’re in the area, but certainly not a pilgrimage. P. S. Campos coffee.

A new favourite breakfast place in the inner-west! Delicious food with a sizeable fixed menu with daily specials also available. They use high-quality ingredients and everything is cooked to perfection. Great coffee(Campos) as well! To top it off, the owner(well I think he’s the owner) is hilarious, super-friendly and welcoming.
