Unique menu items, friendly staff, syringes in cronuts AND good coffee. Too good. We rocked up this morning and had a breakfast. We had peas and parmesan and a salad dish(breakfast salad!) full of quinoa, nuts and good stuff. My partner had the peas and parmesan which was divine. Staff were attentive. They dont have a lot of seating, but they have some outside as well. On a corner just up from a roundabout, it’s easy to find and has a great feel to it.

Go to the grumpy barista on a daily basis before work. Awesome coffee and awesome food. Staff friendly and always willing to have a chat. Definitely the place to get your morning coffee in Petersham

Nice coffee and a good selection of cakes. I ordered the chicken sandwich. It was not bad however I can definitely find something similar elsewhere. They also have cronuts available!

Been here many times. Great coffee and the food is excellent too. Everyone raves about the Cronuts, I like the fig, prosciutto salad

Tight space so you never really feel comfortable. Coffee is solid rather than being spectacular. Food is okay, a tad on the pretentious side

Disappointed we didn’t get to try the cronuts(they ran out) and service wasn’t amazing as the waiters didn’t come off as very friendly.

oh man… good ol’ Grumpy. Let me tell ya, after visiting Grumpy, i wasn’t Grumpy no more! The purpose of our initial visit was to tackle the best cronuts in Sydney. This cronut phase is taking Sydney by storm at the moment. Its going cray, and everyone is going cray with it, including moi! Grumpy definitely was the place to be for some damn good cronuts. Now, i’ve been here twice. The first time we visited this place was an epic fail, but not so much a fail(i dont think that sentence made any God damn sense!). My mate and I were only going to go here for cronuts; these awesome NUTELLA cronuts that they are apparently famous for! We got there at around just after 12pm. We got seated and were told that the cronuts were all gone! omg, it was the worst day! we drove allllll the way from Parramatta to Petersham and those damn salivating donuts were all gone. All these inner west fat shits had taken them! it was a sad afternoon. Not just the Nutella cronuts, BUT, ALLOFTHEM, were gone! ugh! but we didn’t wanna let the lack of croeys suck all the fun out of our café-cronut adventure so we decided to have brunch. This is where the ‘not so much a fail’ kicks in. Brunch was actually quite spectacular. I had the Italian Pot; the good ol’ baked eggs. The baked eggs were not the best i’ve ever had, but i’d definitely give it a 4⁄5. The tomato sauce was quite watery and it didn’t have chorizo sausage, just normal sausage. The baked eggs that i’ve had in the past had chorizo, and lemme tell you, it does make a big difference! Annnnd, the pot only had 2 pieces of sausages, that was a massive let down! But aye, i devoured the whole thing down my throat and dipped all slices of bread that it was served with into the pot, so i definitely wasn’t disappointed. Around 2 weeks later, me and my friend went back. It was raining, there was traffic, there were accidents, people were driving so slowly, ALLODDSWEREAGAINSTUS! but guess what? we made it! we made it just before 11am and just before the crazy-fat-cronut-people beat us to the nutella! I would never forget that moment when two round goddesses entered my life that morning. The cronut was filled with this cream that i can’t even explain, smothered with one layer of nutella and presented with a needle filled with nutella, placed inside the cronut. It was just magically goodness. I have to admit, i’ve had a lot of donuts/cronuts in my day and this would have to be the best cronut i’ve tasted out of the lot! Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Me and my friend were there for probably an hour and all the cronuts were gone, so if you want to get in there, best to camp out the night before, because shit gets serious! The same day i went to try the cronut, i also had something small to eat for breakfast. i definitely needed to balance it all out so i decided to eat something just a bit more healthier. I ended up having a great muesli and yoghurt. I’m a big fan of a great muesli and yoghurt dish and this would have had to be a good 4 out of 5. It was generous serving of sweet yoghurt, berries, nuts and and crunchy muesli. It was delicious! I like my yoghurt a bit thick, and this yoghurt wasn’t the right thickness that i normally like but it definitely didn’t stop me from finishing it in less than 5 minutes ;-) Besides the amazing cronuts and food, not only do you need to get in early for the cronuts, you just need to get in early in general! We got there around 10ish and there was already a line forming outside. The café itself is not that spacious. Probably best for only small groups and/or pairs, not for large packs. If you want to dine in best to get in early for sure. But if you dont have time, always stop by still as they do takeaway. Takeaway cronuts is always a great thing to hear! i’m definitely a fan and girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllllll, i’m definitely coming back for more! xoxo enjoy ya’ll and check out my pictures i posted of my food adventure.

Cozy café found in Petersham… I found my way out here after seeing a photo of their nutella cronut on social media. I thought to myself… it will be mine. Came on Monday for lunch and it was surprisingly packed(it’s Petersham) but I was able to get a seat for 2 rather quickly. Water is self serve here, just note that. Cash only too. If you’re demanding and high maintenance, you won’t like the service here but if you’re just here to chill out the service is great. So I had the nutella cronut and the Italian hot pot. Italian hot pot is legit, it’s pretty damn good… I didn’t get it with chorizo though, probably should have to make it even tastier. $ 13.50, $ 2.50+ for chorizo. Nutella cronut was $ 5 and my verdict is meh. It’s more donut than cronut if that makes sense… the syringe is a nice touch as is the cream filled interior, but compared to other cronuts I’ve had, it just felt like eating a flakier donut. The consistency wasn’t there. I applaud them for the novelty, but the Brewtown Newtown and Zumbo cronuts are more cronutty. Cronutty.
