Blu spoon is natural Greek yoghurt meets froyo. You can select from three sections: 1. Fresh pre-packaged Greek yoghurt option in a tub with fruit or coulis 2. The pre-mixed desserts of the day like yoghurt with caramel crumble or cherry ripe 3. Self-serve frozen yoghurt and toppings combo The self-serve option is like most froyo bars, with the weigh and pay system(a bit pricier than some others I’ve seen at $ 3.10 per 100 grams). They have natural, flavoured, and dairy free options like coconut. I was curious for a taste and a total tightwad on my picks, trying a little coconut froyo with some raspberry coulis and fruit which came in at under $ 3! So if you don’t go overboard(they will let you weigh as you go if you’re unsure), you can definitely have a small cheap snack. This is precisely why I gave it a shot — just wanted to try it rather than go a whole dessert. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The guy helping me didn’t even get judgey at my pittance of a serving. It’s not my favourite… I probably wouldn’t choose to come here for dessert because I would opt for real gelato or ice cream… but for a quick snack or healthier option, it’s far better than buying greek yoghurt from the supermarket.

Yes, it’s only yogurt but not quite the same . The ’ Natural’ flavour is smooth and has that familiar texture that separates greek yogurt from the rest and stays firmer for longer than the usual frozen fair . Having tried some of the special flavours I can say WoW, what a hit ! Baklava is nice but the Lemon Ginger is my new favourite ! Bright new shop that shows lots of promise.

There’s a new sheriff in town and he’s selling amazing greek fro-yo. Just when you thought you’d seen all the fro-yo venues you could imagine, in comes bluspooon. Upon entering you are greeted by a quality, clean, modern blue and white fit out reminiscent of the Greek islands. The staff are very friendly, helpfully explaining what’s on offer. There is something for everyone with prepackaged traditional greek yoghurt with various delicious toppings like caramelised fig or if it’s hot you can’t go past the frozen greek yoghurt combinations including fig, pomegranete, baklava, salted caramel, traditional, wild berry and chocolate(although this was sold out tonight). For our vegan friends their is a soy banana flavour and our coeliacs can enjoy most of the fro-yos except the baklava which is a real shame because it is bloody amazing. As if that wasn’t enough you can choose to top your self serve fro-yo with a variety of quality offerings including fresh strawberries, rocky road, caramelised banana, white chocolate coated nuts and homemade baklava. Enjoy your healthy treat in the aircon comfort inside, the high bar style tables outside or stroll down to the beach and watch the sunset. But bring cash as eftpos is not up yet.
