Try yellow curry! I used to often order for delivery. Great service and family run business which you want to support. Papaya salad used to be one of my faves. Very tasty Thai food restaurant. I like the one the best on Bay Street amongst other Thai restaurants.

Every neighbourhood needs a friendly local Thai joint. Port Melbourne has more than their fair share(with about 3 – 4 on Bay St alone) but this is my pick of the bunch. The restaurant is a quaint, affordable, no frills, family affair. Don’t be surprised if your takeaway order is handed to you by an 8 year old helping out Mum and Dad! Everything we’ve had here has been tasty. Perhaps lacking in spicy kick, but the flavours make up for it. Their stir fry dishes always have perfectly crunchy vegies and the curries and noodle dishes are great comfort food. It’s been a go-to take away joint of mine for years now, but also not bad for a casual eat in if you’re after a no-fuss dining experience.

I love this place. It’s a regular Friday night haunt for us. The duck curry is fantastic although you really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. For a casual rewarding dinner this is the place to go. Their wine selection is not good so of you’re eating in make sure you BYO if you want wine. They have a few beers that suffice.

I LOVETHISRESTAURANT! About two months ago, I was having a big night in town, and my wife and I decided that we’d stay at a nice hotel. Nothing is worse than being out after the trains have stopped running, and needing to find a taxi, which often seems to charge nearly as much as a nice hotel room in the first place. Anyway, before we went out, we wanted to have a good and fast dinner. The hotel’s menu wasn’t that appealing, but they did have a menu for Emerald Elephant. Best takeaway thai I’ve ever, ever had. The red beef curry rivalled that of Tien Dat, it was so sweet and spicy, but not overly so. And it was cheap. Really good value for money. I’m going to be going to the restaurant next time I need a place to eat in town for sure.

Ordered from this place when staying at the Sebel, and I didn’t want to pay their horrendous room service prices. For under $ 30, we both ate entrees and mains, rice, and soft drink. All delivered to our room! What’s more, Emerald Elephant produce some awesome Thai. It really would have to be one on my top Thai restaurants in Melbourne. I definitely plan on eating in next time, and I’m sure I’ll be happy with their service if my previous experience is anything to go by.

Love this place. What seals the deal for me is that they deliver! If you live in the Port Melbourne, South Bank. Albert Park, Docklands or South Melbourne area, you are in luck Emerald Thai will deliver straight to your door. Satay Chicken and Thom Yum soup is great! The family run business offer traditional Thai food reasonably el cheapo and made with love. Most of the times its the owner and family man who will deliver your order with his daughter. Sometimes they’ll even throw in a bag of prawn crackers if your lucky. There is also the dine in option, which is very casual and usually full of locals. Always fine to stroll in off the street and the service is very quick.
