Ordered 3 $ 15 bloody Mary’s and waited 15 minutes for them still not to start making them. No one was in there. Got a refund and left.

Came in here yesterday(Australia day) and immediately liked it! I like the décor and the layout in general. A nice chilled vibe for lunch. The music wasn’t the most fitting — some crazy rave music. And it wasn’t very busy — good for us– but seemed too much for the staff. They were absolutely lovely but very stressed and chaotic ! They also had a one of their very young daughters helping out– little sweetie but poor thing got shouted at for no real reason! The food though was really good ! I got the blt and the coriander Mayo was just amazing. They forgot my friends order though so she was left waiting. I feel like we just went in on a bad day but hopefully when I go again(which I definitely will) I can bump the star rating up!

This place was the worst… Service was terrible and staff were rude… took forever to bring our lunch out! Got harshly judged for questioning the contents of the mayonnaise(I’m pregnant)…

Hungover and bleary eyed with a grumbly tummy, I was in need of coffee and carbs. Stat. Thankfully this little gem of a place was stumbling distance from my hotel and a breakfast saviour. Great digs, love the NYC theming throughout, bar staff were friendly, food was super affordable and well sized with super smooth coffee to boot! The lunch menu looked damn tasty too. I had the eggs on toast(8! Whaaaat?) which made me feel less guilty about adding sides of bacon($ 3) and avo($ 3.50). Oh and they serve their meals on large round wooden boards, which always makes food look that little bit extra spesh :)

It’s my third time here and for the third time I’m loving it. I’m drinking a perfectly made coffee. And eating a fantastic piece of bread and butter pudding. Perfect for this cold day. It almost seems out of place on the main drag of kings Cross, and sure you have to navigate past all the usual street urchins to get here. But once you’re inside you feel welcomed. Even the slightly too loud gypsy house music, is somewhat ok in these surrounds. This is a place worth making your way to. And I shall be making many return visits.

Nice little joint for a cappuccino in the morning. But if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing place — not sure if I’d recommend it. They were bumping some EDM, and it was cool music, just way too much for my ears early in the morning. My friend got a croissant, but was unhappy with how stale it was. Seeing the reviews, I decided to get the Strawberry & Ricotta French Toast. Waited about 20 mins, only to find out they were out of berries. They recommended the Banana & Nutella… it was okay. Bread was a bit soggy. Overall, I would definitely come back for the coffee… not so sure if I would for the food.

Stopped in for breakfast and had a good bacon and egg roll with coffee combo. The food was good, not great, not bad though. Nice casual, comfortable feel.

Great coffee and friendly staff. $ 9.50 for a large soy mocha and a large soy hot chocolate.

Great ambience, lovely location with the madness of King’s Cross passing by. The food was super, with a ton of vegetarian options.

This place lives up to the NY vibe as referenced in its name. I totly dig the worn vintage décor and NY café comfy seating. Breakfast was reasonable for a healthy sized omelette with smoked salmon($ 16 with coffee) and a hefty bacon and egg sandwich($ 10 with coffee). I couldn’t finish the pizza-sized omelette, but I picked all the salmon off of it. Breakfast bruschetta seemed to be the popular dish this morning. It looked like a ricotta and avocado sandwich topped with smoked salmon and poached eggs. Just lovely. Like some reviewers, I found the coffee is fine. Long black complemented my meal without being overpowering or underwhelming. However, I wasn’t impressed with it enough to say I’d make that my morning joe. Overall, I really enjoyed this place; and the guy behind the counter was a sweetheart, like most other Aussies I’ve met so far.

The décor is cool, the atmosphere is comforting. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area but compared to all the other junk food establishments right on this stretch of Darlinghurst Road this place is a sight for sore eyes. The coffee is good, I really enjoy the breakfast here. I like the eggs benedict, the bacon & egg roll is really good, I had it with tomato relish. I’ve also had the the french toast with strawberries & ricotta, also good. As for lunch I’ve tried the steak sandwich & beef burger. The steak sandwich wasn’t all that good but the burger was awesome. I added haloumi to it, which made it even better. If you haven’t had haloumi before you should try it.

Would have been a pretty nice place for a drink except for the disgusting service myself and my girlfriend received from the American bar tender. It really made me struggle to think about the kind of people who work in the service industry today and how society has come to accept this. Good luck to your business, I hope you do well but you should definitely consider your staff.

This is a good café. Unfortunately, around the corner are some amazing cafés — like room 10 and Douce France. Why I’ve only given this place 3 stars. If it was alone then it might getting a higher rating. Saying that, the staff here is extremely friendly and the vibe is great. But the coffee and food is not as good as the other cafés in the area.
