I was just visiting Sydney for a couple or weeks, so I’m not familiar with local shops, and am just rating this store on my experience. Prices seemed fine and they had Cholula hotsauce, which I was happy about. Looked like they had a fair amount of vegetarian and vegan ready-to-eat food; wraps, pastas, salads, sushi… etc. Good selection of toiletries… Lots of soaps and shampoos. Also have a decent amount of socks and underwear. And there is a bottle shop attached.

Toothbrush, Toothpaste, toilet paper and frozen peas. Four things I need from a nearby supermarket, and fortunately for me Woolies is a mere five minute walk from where I live in Elizabeth Bay. These are«emergency» items, being in low or no stock when you desperately need them, like post a big Saturday night or with overnighters coming to stay. So emergency for me means compromising your priorities and where price elasticity matters, so in this case the nearest is Woolies. My «fresh food people» are elsewhere… down the road near Springfield Ave(aka Harris Farm), my choices there are not so price elastic.

To be fair I hate the supermarkets around Pott’s Point, accept my beloved fresh produce grocer who I won’t name here in case the mighty Woolies comes with a gaggle of lawyers and stitches my typing finger to my schnozzle and we’ll all be in trouble. Woolies is the best of the mighty two if you’re in the hood, they do partake in stock rotation which is a bonus.
