I’d just moved into a new place and had an old phone plug with a new connection so needed a converter. It was later at night so JB was still open, so I thought I’d give them a call to see what I needed. Front desk answered and transferred me, where I sat with a ringing phone long enough for it to go back to the front desk then off again. With no answer. So I decided to hang up and go to the store. Which is all fine. The top situation wouldn’t have made it into my review if, when I arrived at JB, there hadn’t been a store with 2 customers and a lot of staff. There were at least 6 staff members on and no one could answer my call? Weak. Lazy. I’m not sure if this store setup is temporary or not but it smelt like burnt wires. It’s difficult to find things as the layout isn’t the same as other JB’s, but everything is really busy so it’s hard to find. Looks like a good music section though. Small wins?

I can’t stand you JB. I know everyone else thinks you’re ballsout awesome for your«cheap» prices. Your stores are overcrowded and the«faux warehouse» feel no longer masks the fact that you are not the cheapest. Your dvd/cd/counter staff are more interested in trying to sleep with each other or get thru their shift than help a customer. Many act like you’re impeding their ability to stock the shelves, rather than realise that they’re there to help a customer out. The tech staff, aside from a rare few, are a joke. No training and poor knowledge. I was given the wrong information by a «hifi expert» about cables, an had to come back(ARGH!) and swap it because she couldnt even figure out which was audio, and which was video. This chapel st store is one of the worst as far as layout and claustrophobia are concerned, and I will do everything in my power to avoid setting foot in your establishment. And now I can. Because when you try to offer me an «aftermarket» laptop accessory and cable for $ 88, and I get on ebay and find the SAME thing for $ 10.99 delivered, I realise you are becoming more redundant in my life and this makes me happy.
